The press secretary for Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., recently lived with the creator of the scathingly satirical YouTube video ad that attacked Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., a revelation that seems to undermine the senator’s claim that he and his campaign had only “very attenuated” ties with the ad’s creator.

Ben LaBolt, the recently named press secretary of Obama’s Senate office in Washington, D.C., roomed with Philip de Vellis, the creator of the “1984″ ad, in Ohio last year while the two worked together on the successful Senate campaign of then Rep. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.

The relationship does not serve as evidence that anyone on the Obama campaign knew de Villis had made the ad. The Obama campaign and its employees have said they have no knowledge of and had nothing to do with the creation of the ad, and de Villis has written as much on a blog.

Does he actually know anything or anybody? Nor does it matter what is said Alice.

Still waiting for response from Murtha….

I think we will be waiting for a very long time for any kind of response or apology from that one.

One of the greatest failures of the Bush Administration was it’s limp response to Murtha’s smears.

It was obvious what they should have done when Murtha started demonizing American troops – fought back with everything they had. Point out that the Marines deserved a fair trial, and that Murtha’s hateful comments were typical of how Democrats view American soldiers. Even now they should be holding Murtha’s feet to the fire by reminding Americans of his dishonorable actions.

But Bush failed utterly to rise to the challenge. Instead, he did what he usually does when confronted with MSM and Democrat savagery – he ran and hid.

Am I the only one, or does anyone else find obama’s habit of going three notes lower at the end of every sentence during a speech,very annoying.

Rezko lawyer Joseph Duffy had urged jurors in his closing argument not to convict Rezko based on Levine’s words, portraying him as an admitted “liar and thief and a drug user and a con-man.”

If they know Levine is what they claim, explain the joining at the hip and so then the same logic for HWMNMNBM (He Who’ Middle Name Must Not Be Mentioned).

Levine also testified that, in another case, he promised to divert $3.9 million in kickbacks from business related to the state Teachers’ Retirement System, which handles teacher pensions.

Force out the home owners so the city of Kelo can give the land to a developer for more taxes for the city of Kelo….

Well it sits barren and looks to be that way for a LONG time.

The Kelo decision, the forcing of home owners out of thier homes….for nothing.

The Supreme Court’s majority, in their June 2005 Kelo ruling, declared that “public use” as stated in the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution really means “public purpose” — that is, instead of the government being able to take land through eminent domain only for the purpose of building a public structure or creating a public service (road, bridge, school, park, etc.), the government can take land for any reason it believes a worthy one. In the case of New London, the city believed that demolishing occupied, functioning houses that had stood for over 100 years and developing “something else” that would garner the city more tax revenues was a worthy public purpose.

What has been done with the property since then?

Why that is a very good question….

Next month marks the third anniversary of the controversial U.S. Supreme Court decision that allowed the city of New London to use the power of eminent domain. But, not much progress has been made in Fort Trumbull, leaving some wondering whether the homeowners were forced out for nothing.

I diagree with the part that says, NOT MUCH has happened – in actuality, NOTHING has happened to the land.

The Corcoran Jennison company has lost its exclusive right to develop nearly the entire northern half of the Fort Trumbull peninsula, officials from the New London Development Corp. said in an interview Friday with the editorial board of The Day.

They couldn’t come up with the financing – so the whole development went bust.

Dozens of destroyed homes and surely more than $200 million later, including costs and lost property taxes to the city, there’s nothing.

The way I see it, is that the greed of the city of Kelo had for an increase in taxes coming from a major development / complex that would far surpass the taxes being received by the homeowners, has come back to bite them.

They decided to be greedy, forced the homeowners out of thier homes, and the development of the land has gone bust, so instead of an increase in taxes coming from the properties, they now have NOTHING.

Sickening.
