As I noted in my prior post, today is shaping up to be a busy day for me – I’ll be back later on in the afternoon or evening to catch up.
Also, my blog designer is supposed to be upgrading my old Word Press version to the latest and greatest version, which came out about a week ago, at some point today, so if you experience any functionality issues, please email me and I’ll see what I can do.

Trying to work out a few kinks in the upgrade.
For anyone who sees a blank avatar when the comment preview thing pops up, I am trying to get rid of that – but it’s part of a new plugin that was installed and I think the plugin needs to be edited.
Also, I’ll make an “official” announcement about this in another post, but you now have the option to edit your comments after you post them – for 15 minutes. So if you catch a typo or other error after you’ve posted you have 15 mins to edit and correct it.
BTW – mega-props to Lisa at EW who is on top of getting these little bugs worked out and who has been patient with me over every little detail I’ve inquired about today

I’ve many times made typos and wished I could fix them….
Lisa is great. She’s designed several websites for me. She’ll make sure the job is done right everytime.
Great option, ST. I can’t count how many times I enter a comment, hit the Send button, and then let out a Homer Simpson-like ‘D’oh!’ looking at a typo. Thanks!

I had her install it in addition to doing the WP upgrade as I’ve had several requests in the past for that type of comments feature.
I’m still playing around with trying to tweak some settings in the control panel, and still discovering what kinds of new functionality it has. Gonna be a late night of blogging

I have a couple issues with 2.5. First, I hate the new “new-post” page. In a word (I can use here, anyway), it stinks.
The other thing is the media management feature doesn’t exactly work in IE. I know there’s a fix out there, but since it’s not quite official, I’d rather not deal with it.
A couple of niggling bugs yet here. The live preview kicks the “1.” down to the bottom. Also, is that comment moderation bit supposed to be there?

steve, I noticed that about the media management feature – hopefully their fix will become “official” soon. I like the way they have it set up much better than the way it used to be, though. They just need to make it work.
Re: the new post page, the only thing I don’t like about it is that when you are editing a post and just want to save the changes and move on, the page still comes up to edit it rather than going back to the posts page.
Yep, the comment moderation blockquote notes should be there.
I saw where the comment preview is numbering all comments as 1, but luckily the are being numbered correctly once they are posted. I may look into getting the preview part of it fixed later.
The BEST plugin would be speech software that would READ me the posts in ST’s voice.

I’ve probably just become too comfortable with the 2.0-2.3 back-end interface, so I’m a bit partial to having the categories on the side (well, that, and I don’t use tags).
As for the comment preview, I’ve gone away from the Live Preview and went to Filosofo Comments Preview. Yes, it does require a button press to preview, but it does the preview exactly how the comment will appear, including showing the emoticons.

steve, I like that preview option, and will keep it in mind. Is it fairly easy to install?
That is what I went looking for when I first searched around for a comment preview option. At the time the only decent one I found was the live preview.
It’s very easy to install; it’s literally an upload and activate plugin.
There are a pair of basic options; the color you want the previewed comment to be (I don’t recall the default color), and an option to force a preview.
Thanks. Once I get through checking to make sure everything works as normal here I’ll see about installing that one. I’m not great at installing plugins unless they only have a couple of files to install and require very few coding changes
You know how to get a hold of me if anything goes wrong (which it shouldn’t). I didn’t even have to do any changes to my template for that.
