You know I am not against solar or wind power. My problem is that we are in a self made crisis. It is horse droppings to think any other way. It is possible to get back to cheaper gas, but it is time to start uncapping wells, and drilling our own resource. This is the only way to help the people in the developing world. Worldwide there was a significant natural warming trend in the 1980’s and 1990’s as a Solar cycle peaked with lots of sunspots and solar flares. That ended in 1998 and now the Sun has gone quiet with fewer and fewer Sun spots, and the global temperatures have gone into decline. Earth has cooled for almost ten straight years. So, I ask Al Gore, where’s the global warming?

The cooling trend is so strong that recently the head of the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change had to acknowledge it. He speculated that nature has temporarily overwhelmed mankind’s warming and it may be ten years or so before the warming returns. Oh, really. We are supposed to be in a panic about man-made global warming and the whole thing takes a ten year break because of the lack of Sun spots. If this weren’t so serious, it would be laughable.

A few more join the chorus every week. There are about 100 defectors from the UN IPCC. There was an International Conference of Climate Change Skeptics in New York in March of this year. One hundred of us gave presentations. Attendance was limited to six hundred people. Every seat was taken.

I’m reminded of a famous quote by screenwriter William Goldman, who when asked about Hollywood moguls figure out which movies would become boxoffice hits quipped, “nobody knows anything.”

Another thing to keep in mind: Aesop (was it him?) wrote the story of Chicken Little to describe what happens when people panic over nothing. The Chickster is the dupe, not the hero of the tale.

The simple fact is, that when people read terms like “never before” when discussing stories relating to weather phenomena, they should remember that accurate weather data have been kept only since the advent of weather satellites. So “never before” really means “since 1979 this has never happened before.”

And the Priuses and the hybrid busses just keep on coming. And still, nobody knows anything.

I am sorry but people need to stop correcting global warming. Climate Change is a fact of life, we like to call it seasons. The problem isn’t change, it is the clueless who have no clue what is going to happen. It is tiresome to believe that these guys get to control this discussion. It is BS that they get to change the narrative when the weather doesn’t conform to the agenda. Remember last years hurricane season?? Not a single hurricane made landfall in the US, but the whole of the south was having problems with drought. Perhaps the US needs hurricanes to provide long term water to these hotter regions of the country. Yet the year before was a record setting hurricane season, and these bb brains went on and on and on about how things are just going to get worse from there. Bull!!! They are clueless, and I am tired of throwing the baby out with the bath water everytime these chicken littles believe that the sky is falling.

Also, I thought the lastest crude oil finds put the notion that oil is a fossil fuel. Exactly what age of earth’s history was 5 miles below the surface?? Crude oil is a by product of the earths core. It use to be called the black plague of good farm land. It would come out of the ground and destroy the soil, crops and all. This is most definately not a fossil fuel. – Lorica

I am sick and tired of the typical liberal short attention span solutions to problems that either make things worse by inducing more problems or are just not going to make any real changes that amount to anything.

Jonah Goldberg lays it all out in “Liberal Fascism”, a book I’m sure you’re all familiar with.

What is certain is that we humans are requiring exponentially more energy as time passes and both this, as well as pollution from the sources used to meet this demand, are vital issues that need to be dealt with now, not in 10 or 20 years time.

Fossil fuels are a finite resource so we need to find ways to generate electricity without them, and the sooner we do so the sooner the problem will be solved. Add to that the strong possibility of damage to the earth by NOT following this course of action and the way seems clear.

We have the technology and the manufacturing capacity to do it right now.
