Patty Murray?? The Patty Murray?? The same one who think bin Laden is beloved in the Middle East because he builds day care centers? The same one who was selected as the Dumbest Senator a few years ago by the senate staffers?

On the other hand, her cluelessness would mesh nicely with Obama’s Carter-esque view of the world…

On the discussion panel on Brit Hume’s Fox News show tonight, Charles Krauthammer pointed out how insane this is. Yeah, treating the 1993 terrorists as a legal problem worked out so well. In 1996 when they went to trial, as part of discovery, the US had to give out the names of 200 other terrorists suspects and the fact that we had been intercepting cell phone communications. Within a week, most of these people had gone to ground, and cell phone use by the terrorists stopped, drying up a critical intel method.

Great eh? But to idiots like Obama, that’s not as important as granting rights enemies of our country have never had, in over 200 years.

What we know is that, in previous terrorist attacks — for example, the first attack against the World Trade Center, we were able to arrest those responsible, put them on trial. They are currently in U.S. prisons, incapacitated.

Yeah, and that sure taught AQ not to mess with us, didn’t it? Yep…that enhanced our “credibility” so much that AQ would never ever dream of plotting any other attacks against the World Trade Center, didn’t it?

What should be crystal-clear to anyone with two or more functioning brain cells is that terrorists stop only when you stamp them out. One has to wonder whether Obama actually wants a new terrorist state in the Middle East or he’s just too clueless to learn from history.

By the way, wiping them out has another salutary effect: the recruiting pool for new terrorists suddenly dries up. For example, see this: Suicide recruits dropping in Iraq. Terrorists held in our prisons can be romanticizied to gullible jihadi prospects – especially since life in a US prison is better than schlepping around caves in Waziristan. But being blown to bits by Marines or by an Apache strike – not so much.
