The announcer was gushing on about how Carlin made us look differently at things we had not thought about for a long time. The routine in question was Carlin saying, "Why is it called abortion for humans, and an omelet for chickens? Are humans better than chicken?" I wanted to answer, "Why is it called food when it goes in one end, and s**t when it come out the other? Is the former better than the latter?" I get the feeling Carlin was more than a few French fries short of a Happy Meal – and not in a good, harmless, funny way. I made an error yesterday and saw a bit on CBS News about Carlin.
