Zach, I didn’t see much of a controversy in the story – I think if it had been related to Countrywide, there would have been something there. The only thing the story helped solidify, IMO, was the fact that Barack Obama is not immune to accepting “special favors” politicians often receive – contra to his “official” position on such matters.

I, for one, loved the hands ad. As Jesse said, what part of it was untrue? The Helms/Gantt race completed my transition from the dark side of the democrats to the conservatives.

Jesse Helms was a tough one. Can you imagine an ad like the hands ad being run today? Heck, our side is too chicken to point out Obama’s faults let alone run an ad that shows the results of his policies. After all, we don’t want to be called racists. We need many more like Helms. RIP Jesse. Thanks for everything.

I have a feeling it is due to the story being linked on FARK that way, which would create a huge deal with Google.

I would love to see what the DU comment was saying, but, they have deleted it, and somehow cleared the google cache.

RAL editor, if that's the case, then why did it show up on the first page of Google with that URL, as though it were cached that way? If it's something that someone other than someone at WRAL did, I don't think it would show up in the Google search with that exact URL. It's still doing that as of this writing, BTW.
