Race card? Geraldine was right -he would never be where he is if it wasn't for what he is - black. The entire party played the race card folks, and some ill thinking conservatives think we need to follow their silly lead into the land of perpetual quotas for president.

Pick quality leaders with stateman like character and strong principles and they will come. Stop trying to be liberal lite.John McMetoo doesn't cut it and that's why Obama has such a free ride. A lot of conservative souls are turned off the GOP and frankly, like battered housewives -there does come a point when we say enough is enough.

Great T. Sowell quote.

I think people are going to soon get fatigued from this constant racial discussion. I am tired of it already. Should these petty squabbles continue I cannot see it helping BHO's campaign.

<blockquote>"I do not have the typical biography of a presidential candidate. What that means is that I'm sort of unfamiliar and people are still trying to get a fix on who I am, where I come from, what my values are and so forth in a way that might not be true if I seemed more familiar."</blockquote>

So, (based on his comment), this is what the Democratic Party expects us to gamble on leading the free world? Obama's "typical biography" is exactly what the left has provided to the electorate for thirty years now---a philosophy based on the fundamental belief that it is the governments responsibility to provide for our every need.

Obama has (in the Clinton tradition of governing by polls) once again shifted his position on offshore drilling just enough to appease the "undecided's" knowing full well that the environmental lobby will tie up the much needed exploration with lawsuits well into the next decade, (think spotted owl).

<blockquote>"I think Obama is distracting us from the important issues of just how clueless Obama is!"

Comment by benning @ 8/2/2008 - 6:18 pm </blockquote>

Benning is spot on with Obama's use of racism,(wag the dog mentality), when ever specific issues need to be explained or if he's taken off his "we are the world" feel good mantra that feeds his lemmings.

The funny thing is (re "I don't look like your dollar bill presidents in various way..."etc.) --he actually ISN'T particularly refreshing and new in any physical way, politically speaking. Jesse Jackson has been a Black presidential candidate, Colin Powell was a much-desired (by Republicans) Black presidential candidate, Condi Rice is currently a Black Female Sec'y of State, Blacks have been our big-city governors, Supreme Court judges, senators, etc. etc. ad infinitum. The man is a totally self-deluded narcissist.

Everytime Obama says something, I expect Lucy to pop onscreen and say, "Baracky, you got some 'splainin' to do!" The man is constantly spitting one foot or the other out of his own mouth.

Earlier in the year, and speaking of Rezko, Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers et al, Senator Hussein said that these people are part of who he is.
Benning: I agree. Most of what he says is just a distraction. The color of his skin does not bother me at all. What comes out of his mouth does.

<strong>Can Obama Be Trusted? UPDATE: No, He Can't...</strong>

Well, someone is finally pointing out the obvious -- sort of. A dispute over whether black U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama has played the "race card" won't swing the election but could make it harder for voters to trust him,......

<blockquote>"I don't think it's accurate to say that my comments have nothing to do with race" </blockquote> No Really?!?!? Ya race hustler!! His statement insults our Founding Fathers and puts a greater division in the population, and the denial offered was an insult to thinking people everywhere. I grow so weary of this stupidity.

<blockquote>What that means is that I'm sort of unfamiliar and people are still trying to get a fix on who I am, where I come from, what my values are and so forth in a way that might not be true if I seemed more familiar."</blockquote> I am sorry but what does this statement really mean??? If you break it down and pull out the fluff in the middle you get "What this means is that I'm sort of unfamiliar in a way that might not be true if I seemed more familiar"..... Does that make any sense to anyone here?? Is this man always going to double speak everything he says?? And the MSM wonders why he is not doing better in the polls.

Seriously tho, this person has been on the national stage for 4 years now, and he still wonders why people still don't know him. Perhaps if he wasn't constantly flip flopping like a fish out of water, or if he wasn't constantly using his power of double speak to confuse everyone, someone might actually get to know him. - Lorica

Typical - whatever blame there is attaches solely to his opponent.

So am I counting correctly, is this the third blatant draw of the race card? First we had the "Did I mention that he's black?" Second was his claim that nobody in Berlin ever saw an American that looked like him.

Okay, that one is true. He's skinnier than Colin Powell and doesn't look as good in a dress and boots as does COndi RIce.

And third is this one - he doesn't look like any of those people on the money. He must have been commenting on Hillary's well remarked resemblance to Abe Lincoln.
