ChenZhen, I’ll take a stab at the answer. Christians believe that everyone is a wretched sinner, but when someone does wrong, confesses it and repents, his fellow Christians are supposed to treat him with what they call “charity”. That is, they treat him based on the life he’s lived since his repentance and they don’t dredge up his sins. The caveat is that he’s supposed to “go and sin no more” – and in this case, McCain has made a strong second marriage. The fact that McCain has publically expressed his regret over wrecking his first marriage and his first wife has forgiven him yet the Matthew 25 group is rubbing his nose in it again after all these years – that’s what’s disgraceful.

I’ll listen to my pastor’s sermons when they involve religious matters. When they involve politics, they go in one ear and out the other. I seriously doubt God speaks to him about whether Obama or McCain will do a better job as President of the United States of America.

And another howler about Obama – “Throughout his entire career he’s stood by families.”

Hmmm … would that include the families in Chicago’s Englewood and Grove Parc neighborhoods? Perhaps Matthew 25 should interview the blessed poor in those neighborhoods and ask how well Obama has stood by them.

Funny, according to this logic, “Matthew 25″ Christians should have voted for George W. Bush over John “Annulment-Celebrity Chaser-Gold Digger” Kerry in a landslide.

I can’t help but think that these ads are simply an attempt at revenge, payback for the damage that the Democrats (and their liberal Christian apologists) suffered from Bill Clinton and continue to suffer from the likes of McGreevey, Spitzer, Edwards, etc. Specifically, John Edwards held a lot of political clout with liberal Christians because of his professed concern for the poor. Liberal Christians have had to defend Edwards, Clinton, et. al. by painfully reminding us of MLK’s philandering even though he was a “prophet”, and reminding us of King David’s adultery even though he was “a man after God’s own heart.”

Yet George W. Bush, the most evil, corrupt, power-mad war monger in the history of the United States, is still married to his wife of 31 years and, so far as we know, has never cheated on her. What a conflict of “Christian values”!

I’m not religious, so I could really care less what some pastor says about a candidate, but I have to ask why you labeled the ad “disgraceful”?
