This looks like the cover of a science-fiction book. The cover artist actually read the book and noticed that the action takes place on a planet that has been colonized by humans, and that the colonists are celebrating their first Christmas on their new home.

Shhhhh, MD… I’ve been down in San Diego the past four weeks, and I have to admit I’m a bit worried about Sneery looking after my dogs while I’m gone. Even though his Dad promised me he’d keep an eye on the kid, that guy is one major league 15 year old loose cannon.

Seriously, I’m half afraid that when I get back I’ll find my house turned into an AIDS hospice for differently abled transgendered Native American children or something.

Don’t you mean anti-American protesters? I mean, I don’t recall seeing any of these people protesting in front of the Russian embassy for it’s attack on Georgia. If they were truly anti-war protesters they would have been outside the embassy for days now, but alas, apparently Russian aggression is acceptable to them.
