Palins Troopergate may harm GOP

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Troopergate. It’’s a political he-said, she-said that has dogged Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for nearly two months and is likely to do so for another two months leading to the Nov. 4 presidential election.

Sure we already know that, but what IS “troopergate”?

The accuser is blogger and rental car executive Andrew Halcro, a Republican-turned-Independent who lost to Palin in the 2006 governor’’s race.

Gosh I don’t see politics playing any part in this…..really.

The man in the middle is former commissioner, Monegan, who says Palin never told him to fire the trooper, but he felt pressure to do so from members of her administration.

Then there’’s trooper Mike Wooten, who used a Taser on his stepson, Palin’’s nephew Payton. Wooten has been reprimanded for violating nearly a dozen laws and departmental policies since December 2001.

Palin steadfastly denies the allegations, and with her signature resolve, said she welcomes the investigation. “Hold me accountable,” she challenge her critics.

I love this woman!

So you have a trooper who, sounds to me like, never should have been wearing the badge. A weak chief who refused a transfer and admits he was NEVER told to fire the trooper but felt “pressured”. Give me a break.

Given the above stuff that follows Obama practically everywhere, no wonder the far left keeps spreading lies about Palin and keeps viciously insulting her. Their guy (not to mention Biden) has so many problems, it’s ridiculous. Here’s hoping the garbage they pile on Palin backfires big time.

In all likelihood, this organization is probably just a minor inconvenience for the McCain campaign. (almost certainly a smaller problem than Obama’s Trinity Church scandal) that Palin can straighten out with a good speech.

As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden’s.

She’s also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security’s
counterterrorism plans.

Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country’s defense. Given Alaska’s proximity to Russia, she may have security clearances we don’t even know about.

According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but
nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.

She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.

Is anyone frustrated with the Republican/McCain supporters on Larry King, etc.? They sound so ignorant. They should study up on Palin’s qualifications before appearing on national tv. Arrrgh!

I’m convinced three things are in play here:

1) The Obama campaign is scared of the “Palin effect.”
2) The media and the punditocracy can’t stand it that they were fooled by the McCain campaign and that someone from outside the Eastern political elite was chosen.
3) Raw prejudice at a woman who would dare not to follow the “progressive” prescription for how a liberated woman should behave. It’s the same crap Clarence Thomas and Miguel Estrada put up with for daring to be minority conservatives.
