Sister Toldjah!

Howdy ya’ll,

I’m going to take the evening and Saturday to decompress a bit from all the political news that has happened over the last couple of weeks. Should a hot story break, I’ll check in to blog about it.

Tropical Storm Hanna should be hitting the Carolina coast tonight or early morning, and the Charlotte area will be getting some winds and rain from it, but it doesn’t look like for us here in the Piedmont area that it will be too bad. I pray for those on the coast, tho.

Catch ya’ll later. And, oh yeah - TGIF!

  1. Sigh………….

“Late Night” host David Letterman says he has reservations when doing jokes about John McCain’s age. Letterman tells Rolling Stone, “Every time we have these jokes about him, I always think to myself, ‘This is not entirely fair.’”

He says McCain’s age is an obvious target, and that poking fun at Barack Obama is more difficult. He says, “I don’t think people have a way to get in there. There’s nothing automatically that you can go to.

I’m sure a political newborn whose claim to fame is a “community organizer” with ties to domestic terrorists and America haters is VERY difficult to joke about.

    You’re such a coward, Dave.

  2. If you look at the wisdom of your header quote and change man to woman -you’ve covered it all!

But let’s give men some credit too - after all, the Alaskan demographics that elected this marvelous woman run 9-1 gun-toting male domination.

  3. Hopefully you weathered the storm ok. Looks like it blew through your area pretty quick. :)

  4. If Dave Letterman has difficulty poking fun at Barack Obama, it is time to hire new writers. Sara Palin had no trouble at all. Perhaps the writers guild is as inept as the current Congress.

  5. On a more frightening note…..

Fear Looms Over Scientist’s Experiment to Uncover Secrets of ‘Big Bang’

A British physicist has claimed he can explain the secrets of the Big Bang Theory, but his controversial experiment has scientists believing he could bring about the end of the world, the U.K.’s Daily Mail reported.

But 63-year-old Dr. Lyn Evans of Aberdare, England, popularly known as “Evans the Atom,” claims to know the answers, and will test his experiment on Wednesday by using a 17-mile-long doughnut-shaped tunnel that will smash sub-atomic particles together at the speed of light, the Mail reported.

Sounds interesting enough, but what’s the down side?

Evans’ ambitions, however, have brought widespread concern among scientists who say the experiment could create a shower of unstable black holes inside the Earth, and subsequently bring destruction to the planet.

Wonderful. That would be about right though wouldn’t it? In an effort to prove that there is no God, this scientist might destroy the world. Perfect.

“Nothing will happen for at least four years,” retired German Otto Rossler told the Mail. “Then someone will spot a light ray coming out of the Indian Ocean during the night and no one will be able to explain it.”

Well, as long as the ray of light were shining on Obama, nobody would question it. Hey!! Four years from now? That would be right about the time Obama’s first term was ending, wouldn’t it? Right around the time of the end of the world?

    Coincidence?!?!?! I think not!!!!

  6. “Widespread concern among scientists” translates to “the usual apocalyptic nutcases, pseudoscientists, and Ouja board readers.”

No serious scientist that I know of has these concerns. But that’s typical of the British press’s fascination with hysteria and rabble rousing.

  8. I see the nimrods who think global warming isn’t enough of a scare to keep them jazzed trying to whip up the yokels. There’s your leftist conspiracy, why, to combat this evil right wing scientific threat, we need a trilllllion dollars!

When black holes are outlawed, only outlaws will have black holes!
