Yes Trish and Roe v. Wade was never to include the 3rd trimester. I don’t give a squat what they say now, as long as they view the Constitution as a “living” document, they can change their minds about anything they want. They find a “right” to abortions that no one in their right mind could possibly find, they believe that a comma is more than a comma in the 2nd amendment. I am sorry, but you will never ever convince me that the ultimate goal of Embryonic Stem Cell Research isn’t cloning. – Lorica

I don’t put anything past them, either. But they have consistently supported legislation that opposed allowing any cloned embryo to live; in their universe cloned embryos exist only to be experimented upon. Either they don’t want to clone people, or they’re pulling a double bluff.
So the question isn’t how devious they are, but how smart they are.

I don’t think it’s the cloning angle, I think they are so completely wedded to the concept of unlimited, unrestricted, and unconcerned attitude towards abortion that they are hyper sensitive to any and every thing that could possibly cast any doubt or raise any issue about the sanctity of human life prior to birth (and maybe even after that).

They are so totally and insanely one issue people on this issue that they are completely incapable of viewing anything outside of the lens of what it could do to abortion (or pre-emptive infanticide). They have a fanatical, illogical, and compulsive attraction to abortion and it colors everything else they do.

I don’t disagree with that Trish. My comment is about their motives for being dishonest about stem cell research. I firmly believe that it is their secret desire to start cloning people. – Lorica

No, the reason they support embryonic stem cell research is that they hope it will sway people who are ambivalent about abortion away from the pro-life side.

They think they have an issue here. But honestly they don’t. The truth of the matter is that under George Bush, stem cell research has been provided many great things. I think that the real reason they want Embryonic Stem Cell Research is they believe it will lead to actual cloning. This could be the only motive for their dishonesty. – Lorica
