They are lying, of course, but they probably don’t even realize it. For abortion to be available at all, it has to be sufficiently profitable for abortion providers to remain in business. If abortion became, in Bill Clinton’s famous formulation, “safe, legal and rare,” its rarity would push the price of abortion much higher, beyond the means of many of the women who have abortions. For abortion to be available, it has to be common enough to make it economically feasible, so yes, the abortion proponents are pro-abortion, in that they must want enough abortions to occur to keep the industry economically viable — bad pun thoroughly intended.

A coworker’s friend had a test that produced positive results. She lost a great deal of weight in anticipation of having an abortion. (Don’t ask me why, but she did.) Fortunately she had another test first. Result: negative.

They didn’t disclose any such information to me when I was pregnant, but as I did not have amniocentesis, and had made it clear that I would not abort my child under any circumstances, they undoubtedly felt that there would be no point in disclosing the risk factors of the tests they did make.

The prenatal test for Downs Syndrome has been known to give false positives–some women (not many, but I think even one makes my point) have chosen to give birth after a positive test and had a perfectly health baby. I’ve never been pregnant, so I don’t know–do they disclose the test’s accuracy rates when they perform it?

So much for “choice.”
Of course, the baby gets no choice anyway. But the pro-aborts don’t want a woman to make an informed choice. Why are they against pre-abortion counseling, and a 24-hour waiting period? Oh, a waiting period is a hardship–and being rushed into an abortion you don’t want isn’t?

We need to let them know that you have not prevented a case of Downs Syndrome just because you have aborted a Downs Syndrome child.
