Spidey, those words were also spoken by either Thomas Dewey or Wendell Wilkie when they ran against FDR in the ‘44 and ‘40 elections, respectively. They refused to make a play for a cheap advantage over the sitting president in a time of national peril.

Apparently Obama hasn’t the character of either of those men.

The audacity of Obama to put his Presidential ambition before safeguarding our troops! But more mind-boggling than this is the media force-feeding us story after story about Governor Palin trying to fire a Trooper and not one word about Zebari’s claim that Obami tired to delay an agreement on the drawdown of an American military presence in Iraq! I have three nephews in the military (one served in Iraq a year ago and two are deployed there now), and I know this story is of more than just a little interest to me!
America’s mainstream media has made me one disheartened American.

Regarding the mention of impeachment above, I don’t think Senators are subject to impeachment by the House. Each chamber retains the right to expel its own members. Given the make up of the Senate, expulsion would never come about. And even pushing it would be a politically bad idea.

On the other hand, the McCain-Palin campaign should hit them hard over this: it’s a perfectly legitimate line of political attack, since Obama was trying to undercut the national interest in favor of his and his Party’s interests. (Typical of Democrats these days. ) And it should be brought up in the debates: McCain should challenge Obama over it, and Palin should demand that Hairplug …er… Biden say whether he supports his boss’s move.

McCain is a big fan of TR: like Roosevelt, all he needs to do now is speak softly and wield the big stick he’s been handed.
