Ok, my new site host is transferring data over from my old hosting site to theirs. I’m very nervous right now! Hopefully all will go ok. If you experience any site access issues in the next hour or so, you know why.

Please use this as an open thread – I’ll be back later this afternoon.

Another foot-in-mouth day for the Democrat ticket: Joe Biden now says that if you don’t want higher taxes, he questions your patriotism:

Biden: Paying higher taxes patriotic for wealthy

So the top 50% of us, who pay 97% of all taxes, aren’t patriotic unless we want to pay 99% or 100%?? Who’s writing his speeches now, Sneery McLeftypants?

Oh, and on the heels of protecting the left-wing slime who hacked into Governor Palin’s Email, the AP dives further into the tank for Obama. For example:

Although Republican John McCain claims that Obama would raise taxes, the independent Tax Policy Center and other groups conclude that four out of five U.S. households would receive tax cuts under Obama’s proposals.

Except if you look into the Tax Policy Center, you find it’s a branch of the Brookings Institution, a think tank that’s been hawking left-wing and socialist ideas for decades. The people who would call that “independent” are the same ones who thought Cuba was “non-aligned” during the Cold War days.

Just to make sure you don’t miss the point, the AP reporter editorializes one last time:

McCain released a television ad Thursday…the ad features the image of a shadow slowly covering a sleeping baby as a narrator misstates the reach of the Obama tax proposal.

Bet you won’t find that AP hack making any noises about how the Obama campaigns latest Spanish-language commerical “misstates” McCain’s immigration position though.

Well, well….Joe Biden wants you to do your patriotic duty and pay more taxes, but he’s not too eager to part with his own cash:

Biden gave average of $369 to charity a year

That’s the average over the last decade, or two-tenths of one percent of his income. That’s called cheap. I make only a small fraction of what the Bidens earn, but I donate more in a year than they do in ten. And I’ll bet I’m not an unusual case among the readers here.

How typical of the left…they want high taxes to take care of “the least of us”, but they won’t voluntarily part with their own money for the same purpose.

  3. Good points, GWR – reminds me of how President Bush’s Crawford ranch is far more eco-friendly that The Goracle’s mammoth energy-guzzling estate.

Do As I Say, Not As I Do: the enduring liberal mantra.

  4. Great White Rat says:

The left scores a stupidity hat trick in one day. First they claim confiscatory taxation is patriotic. Then we find out Biden stiffs charities. And now this:

    Palin nixed from Iran rally

Organizers of a rally in support of Israel and against Iran invited both Senator Clinton and Governor Palin to speak. When Hillary found out she would be sharing the dais with Palin, she dropped out because that meant the event was too “political”.

So let me understand…if only Democrats speak, that’s not a partisan political rally. If BOTH parties provide a speaker, then it’s political. So, to avoid having this appear partisan, the Democrats made it partisan. Uh huh. Now I see… :-\

Then the Obama campaign declines to send anyone from their ticket to join Palin on the speaker platform. What happened to all this talk about the Dalai Bama being the great “unifier”?? Just words??

It would have been a good show of non-partisan unity to have prominent people from both parties speak against Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Too bad one of the parties puts politics ahead of country. Not that it surprises anyone who’s been awake for the past few decades. :-w

    And then there’s this:

Dallas Mavericks’ Josh Howard Trashes National Anthem in YouTube Video

In a video posted on YouTube, Howard is shown on a football field at a charity flag football game. As the national anthem plays in the background, Howard approaches a camera and says: “‘The Star Spangled Banner’ is going on right now. I don’t even celebrate that (expletive). I’m black.”

Absolute genius. This rocket scientist played a Wake Forest, so his antics are somewhat known in these parts.

Howard was criticized last season for saying in a radio interview during a first-round playoff series against New Orleans that he occasionally smokes marijuana. Later that same series, he angered coach Avery Johnson by throwing himself a birthday bash after a Game 4 loss to the Hornets.

And a team player to boot!!!

What a freakin’ moron!! You don’t respect the anthem of a country that allows you to make obscene amounts of money for playing a game?!?!?!??!?

Somebody needs to go back and have a visit of the mother land NC. I bet I could find 100 Africans who would love to make a third of the money this guy is making and still stand and sing the National Anthem. This area has the Bix Biederbeck Memorial Run every July. Every year you see these African runners standing for the National Anthem looking very respectful, knowing that this country has taken them from a life of crushing poverty, knowing that they are going to try to stay in this country for as long as they can. Hearts on fire, ready to run and win. Afterwards they are amazingly happy, and very thankful. They are amazing people.

One of my biggest problems with today’s black males is that many of them are more concerned about slavery that ended over 150 years ago, compared to slavery that is ongoing today. If they truly cared they would stop this childish BS and move on to helping the others in this world, especially in Africa, and yes, I give money to Voices of the Martyrs every paycheck. – Lorica

Let Shaq (who was raised by a retired master sargeant in the U.S. Army) see this tape and Mr. Howard will know what pain is like.
