Here's my question: why aren't the Democrats all lathered up about the mismanagement and corruption at Fannie and Freddie? Normally, even the slightest hint of impropriety has them racing for the MSM cameras and microphones to yammer about how we need a special prosecutor, or Congressional hearings. Henry Waxman, for example, has made a career out of running non-stop politically motivated hearings.

But now, suddenly, they want to be quiet and reflective, and avoid digging into the root causes of the problem? :-?

Reminds me of the Sherlock Holmes mystery, Silver Blaze:

' Is there any other point to which you would wish to draw my attention?'

'To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time.'

'The dog did nothing in the night-time.'

'That was the curious incident,' remarked Sherlock Holmes.

But in fairness, maybe they have more important issues on their plate at the moment. Maybe they need to find new ways of calling Sarah Palin a pig, or some equally critical emergency.

Sis,

Thanks for this. I've read a bunch of the links and even a few links linked from the links you've linked...ahem...especially good was a link to Mark Levin. Long story short, I've learned a lot here about this situation and feel far more up to speed.

What I'm not hearing, however, is an objective report of what might befall us if this questionable bailout idea doesn't come to pass. Naturally things will suck, but if any specifics are easily available (or if I haven't gotten to the right link yet...I will eventually) that would be great. Though I don't much like the idea of bailouts in principle, this is a case where I'm just not sure how to feel about it. Anyone?

Interesting.....considering Joe Biden is blaming the Bush tax cuts for the meltdown. Big surprise there.

I wonder if the NY Times or CNN will "FactCheck" this little gem.

I kid, of course.

To paraphrase a commenter at HotAir: "Greedy people simply like to loan money to people who are unlikely to pay it back."
