Acer Aspire One is essentially the same unit with a little less memory, Win XP, and comes in white as well as deep Navy blue. And sells for $349.95. But it, too, is so much in demand that as soon as it hits the shelves, it’s gone, and retailers currently are demanding, and getting, a $150 “premium” for it (e.g., $499.95. If you’re not in a huge hurry, wait and Best Buy will again be selling it for $349.95.

I was thinking something along a grander scale. Perhaps in the ball room of a cruise ship. Or on the beach in the Florida Keys. Then a honeymoon at Pale Hall in Wales. Just for a week, while we tour castles in there. – Lorica

I was all set to buy a Dell Ubuntu machine, but then discovered there’s no linux version of a program I have to have (Final Draft). Argh.

So, after a lifetime of DOS/Windows, I’m seriously looking at a Mac.

XP – though I’ve heard some pretty good things about Ubuntu. The fact that the Mini doesn’t have Vista was a big plus for me. Wish it had more memory, tho.
