There’s a world of difference between a burglar and a terrorist. Especially when the terrorist (a) openly admits his involvement in bombings aimed at killing or maiming innocents, and (b) is to this very day proud of it and wishes he had planted more bombs and killed more people. I’m not arguing that Liddy is clean. You’re arguing that all felons – burglars, serial murderers, terrorists, auto thieves – are equal. Check the legal penalties for some of these crimes – they are not all equal. Which, if you’re capable of doing anything other than mumbling Obama chants, should tell you something.

Again, as for Keating, once McCain knew of Keating’s activities, did he seek a friendship with him? No. Obama, despite knowing Ayers repugnant acts and open hate for America, did.

Take off the blinders….as Lorica and NC Cop have also pointed out, it is a pattern for Obama to seek out and associate with disreputable people. It’s not just Ayers or the long list Lorica supplied. It’s the fact that he’s the preferred candidate of Hamas. And Hezbollah. And Kim Jong Il. And the Castros. And Hugo Chavez. And he even has the endorsement of the US Communist party. And he has turned away…none of these.

Maybe you want to tell us why you find those associations acceptable. But probably not. I’ve found that pointing them out here is one way to make the leftists suddenly clam up, and that’s because you really do know your candidate’s baggage is indefensible. The sad part is that you leftists are so intellectually bankrupt you cling to him anyway.

Ayers HATES this country. Do you understand that? Liddy has done low things and I don’t care for him, but he doesn’t HATE this country. Obama has a history of being around people who HATE this country, yet we are supposed to believe that this means nothing?

Personally I believe Obama does have a grudge against this country. I do not know how this grudge will manifest itself if he were to win the election, but I do know that it will not be something that is good for America.

I’m not defending Obama, just wondering how it is that the same logic cannot be applied to McCain and his past associations. Still don’t have an answer and it smacks of hipocrisy, that’s all.

Honestly Tom, I only have your word on what Mac calls Liddy, and your word means nothing to me, to be frank. You have shown a propensity to stretch the truth in the favor of your argument so why would I honestly believe you. As far as Liddy’s comment, Clinton’s illegal paramilitary actions against the citizen’s of this country should have been discussed openly and in the manner I am describing. But until Liddy starts blowing up buildings, it is not even close to being the same, and as an intelligent person, you cannot make the comparison and expect reasonable people to stand in agreement with you.

Fact is Liddy (and Keating) were convicted felons. McCain “palled” around with them.

Tom, on Keating, that’s a baldfaced lie and you know it. Fact is, McCain was cleared by the ethics investigation. No less a person that Bob Bennett (a Democrat, by the way), says as much. The only reason McCain was given even a mild reprimand was that the Democrats who controlled the Senate wanted to drag at least one Republican into the mix so they could claim GOP involvement where none existed.

Now, as for Liddy, when you can show me McCain going out of his way to get his support when starting his political career, and when you can show me McCain steering millions of dollars to radical subversive groups at Liddy’s behest, then get back to us. Until then, you have nothing.

By the way, this doesn’t even take into account Obama’s willing acceptance of support and money from other terrorist groups – Hamas, for example. If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas. And Obama’s been lying down with an entire kennel.

And as for “honest” – LOL!! Honesty is NOT a plus when you’re trying to get ahead in the world of Chicago Democrat politics.

Personally, I have no use for Liddy. Being in law enforcement myself, I found Liddy’s comments disgusting. Trying to compare Liddy to Ayers, however, is absolutely ridiculous. Saying stupid things and planting bombs are 2 totally different things. Get real, Tom.

I fear for this country if Barry becomes our president. He has spent why to much time outside of this country in the care of people that are untrustworthy for me not to be concerned. I don’t trust him. He has a spirit of deception about him, he is constantly being propped up by the news media, and I really don’t trust those idiots. He plays to whatever crowd he is talking to at that given moment. Saying one thing in PA and another in CA.
