So even though reality might have smacked Obama right in the face, his acolytes are still insulated from it and are on the verge of a tantrum. Where are the flying rainbow unicorns that poop free medical care?

There’s plenty of damage Obama can do, even with the relatively centrist picks he’s made so far. Judging by his past performance I am not sanguine. But having the Kool-Aid drinkers bang on their high chairs is still good. What many of the 52-48 percenters don’t realize is that that measley little insignificant 48% still lives in this country and still has a say what happens in it.

I think we should start have ODS (Obama Derangement Syndrome) from the Left starting around Feb, when he continues to blow them off, now that he understands the reality of what a President needs to do.

True, Bach, but let ‘em steam for a while. The left’s idea of BO winning the election pretty much included the idea that BO would just, um, like, take over the Oval Office on 11/6. Of course, the coup didn’t happen and they’re pissed off about it. Aww.

I give BO credit — so far — for not giving in to people like Barney Frank and the rest of his cadre. For all I’m not a fan of his, I’ve got to give him props for making the effort to tell the Lepht to back off until 20 Jan. And I think you’re right, ST — BO got a reality check after the election and is clued into why his “change” isn’t feasible now.

Your best prediction for what a person will do has to be what (s)he has done in the past. “Change” is possible, of course, but there is little yet to suggest Obama’s underlying beliefs, based on what we clearly know about him from his writings and actions, have changed. Nothing he has said or done yet is set in stone, and he can turn 180 degrees with a news conference or signature(s) on January 21st, 2009. The people he’s chosen to act on his behalf, and the ones in the shadows we don’t even know about yet give plenty of reasons for wariness.
