Hmm, how could we possibly define such a nebulous concept? Okay, this is just me freewheeling here, talkin’ out my a**, but hear me out: suppose that, after the inaguration is completed, Barack Obama has been sworn in as President of the United States? Would that constitute success?

Okay, yeah, I know, I know, what the hell am I smoking, you ask, and rightly so. I mean, this is the sort of wild eyed nuttiness we’d expect from Andrew Sullivan or Chris Matthews. But could it serve, provisionally, as a working definition, until maybe Jacques Derrida weighs in?
