FYI, still no resolution on the comments editor plug-in dilemma. I’ve gotten quite a few emails from people who miss that feature … believe me, I’m missin’ it, too. I’ve even tried installing earlier versions, which work the same but don’t resolve the problem. I’m thinking about trying to install a comment “preview” plug-in different from the one we have here now. Whereas this one let’s you preview it below the screen where you are typing it, the one I am looking at would give you a “preview” button to click in order to view your comment before it’s posted. If the coding doesn’t look too tricky on that one, I’ll try to install it as a short-term fix until a resolution (if any) can be reached on the comment editor plug-in. I contacted the creator of the plug-in but that was several days ago and I’ve received no response. Ah well.
With news of the House’s passage of the earmark-filled “stimulus bill,” it’s made a lot of people, mainly Democrats, happy. No doubt President Obama’s Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who said some revealing things back in mid-November, about the “opportunity” the stimulus package provided Democrats, is especially happy. Click below for a flashback those comments, which Emanuel gave at the WSJ CEO Council in DC:
I just got a link to the below video in email. It’s from something called the “NFL Fantasy Files” and it is cool as all get out! It shows NFL players doing football tricks that we mere mortals can’t (and in some cases, wouldn’t want to) do. These guys are truly amazing – but the best one is at the end:
With all the talk out there, mainly from the Democrat side, saying we need to “do something and do it now” as it relates to our troubled economy, it appears inevitable that indeed “something” will happen. But in the rush to get something passed, and with Obama’s telling the GOP that, regarding the stimulus they need to “not play politics” (read: don’t continue to object to anything we put in it, because we’ve already placated you enough and we need to pass it now), isn’t it long past time that Washington, DC slow the hell down, read the fine print and really debate whether or not this is really necessary? Heck, some Democrats are saying that the current plan isn’t enough! Insanity.
