Say what you want about Senator Lindsey Graham. Though he’s irritated most of us more often than not, the stimulus bill is one area where most of us can agree with him wholeheartedly. Here he is on Shep Smith’s Studio B show on Fox earlier this afternoon, going off on Obama and the Democrats in the House and Senate who have larded up this bill with billions in spending that won’t create a single job:
… you’re in the middle of your first big test as President of these 57 states, with Senators and House reps from both parties duking it out over more tax cuts and big spending items in the stimulus bill you’ve said must pass in order to avoid certain catastrophe.

Those were words we heard, and heard often, during the course of Barack Obama’s campaign as he convinced a majority of the American people that Republicans had deliberately tried to “scare” people into voting for them over the last 8 years. Yet as Obama has taken office, the cries of “economic catastrophe” coming from both him and members of his administration, and members of his party in Congress, have been loud and strong.
