Twice today I heard Barack talk about our “addiction” to foreign oil. So I have to ask myself, why did he last week sign an executive order ending oil exploration in and around our national parks??? – Lorica

Anybody heard about the amendment in the porkulus bill pertaining to socialized medicine? Rush was talking about it today. No wonder Obama’s in such a hurry to get it passed.

Lorica, perhaps he wants to save our oil, coal, etc. for the day Saudi Arabia and Venezuela run out of oil?

Which reminds me – I spotted an full-page advert by an electric company warning that we would run out of coal in less than twenty years. Uh, it’s in the Popular Mechanics for June 1920!

Where has Mr. Blackwell been since, oh, a couple of hours after the decision? Is he unaware (barely acceptable) or is it something else? ALL NINE JUSTICES EXPLICITLY STATED THAT THE AMENDMENT DECLARED AN INDIVIDUAL RIGHT! Three thought that while it might be unConstitutional the case should go back to a lower court for more work, while one claimed that the “regulations” were not a “ban” and so were not in violation of the Constitution.

Teqjack, I think that too, but the problem is that alot of independant oil producers are being paid off by the oil companies. A friend of my brother inheritted an oil well in down state IL. So when oil hit 120.00 per barrel he decided to uncap it as he realized that he could make more money from 2 barrels a day than what Conoco Phillips was paying him. Right now his oil well is pumping about 20 barrels a day, and he is thinking about drilling 2 more wells. He says that once he gets to 100 barrels a day he is going to retire. I Hope he makes it.

Anyway, the thing is why is the President saying one thing and doing another??? He wants us to not be addicted to foreign oil, but at the same time he stops exploration of new sources of oil. How soon before the executive order is back to stop off shore drilling?? – Lorica

Gloworm, that’s a very timely comment. Today’s WSJ carried this op-ed about the Canadian health care system that our libs are so in love with (well, that and the Cuban medical system).

Canadians have to wait months or even years for medical procedures we take for granted here. Those who can come to the US and pay for the care they need. The irony of that is, of course, lost on our so-called “progressives”.

But according to this article, it can take more than four months to get an MRI. You can be told to wait for months to see a specialist – and there are plenty of cases where that wait would be fatal. There’s a case where a man had to wait for more than a year to see a specialist about a hip replacement operation – and when he finally did, the government bureaucrats who decide who gets treated turned him down because he was “too old”. He was 57.

It’s about what you’d expect when you let political appointees and the people at the DMV make your health decisions. But the libs will love it because it gives them more power over your life, and there’s nothing they crave more.
