Less than 3 minutes and counting …
In a word, nothing.
Thank goodness John Nolte watched it so we didn’t have to, and made a list of highlights and lowlights, which you can read here.
Remember how President Obama characterized legitimate Republican criticisms of his economic stimulus as “playing politics” last month in an effort to render those criticisms irrelevant? Well, he’s done it again, on the same topic, and this time he’s hitting those “racist” southern GOP governors like Bobby Jindal who have indicated they will not accept either some or all the stimulus money. Via the liberal “Think Progress” blog, a blog that apparently believes that trying to force those governors into accepting federal money is a good thing:
This morning, President Obama addressed members of the National Governors Association, focusing his remarks on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. During the speech, Obama specifically took aim at the GOP governors who have said that they will reject some of the package’s funding, hinting at the fact that many of them seem to have put their political ambitions over the needs of their states:
OBAMA: I just want us to not lose perspective of the fact that most of the things that have been the topic of argument over the last several days amount to a fraction of the overall stimulus package. This sometimes gets lost in the cable chatter. […]
And so, if we agree on 90 percent of this stuff, and we’re spending all our time on television arguing about 1, 2, 3 percent of the spending in this thing, and somehow it’s being characterized in broad brush as wasteful spending, that starts sounding more like politics. And that’s what right now we don’t have time to do. […]
What I don’t want us to do, though, is to just get caught up in the same old stuff that inhibits us from acting effectively and in concert. There’s going to be ample time for campaigns down the road.
Yeah? Well let us know when you stop campaigning, Mr. President.
I have received a few emails from readers wanting to know if there is a way in FeedBlitz that they can set it to where they aren’t getting an email update everytime I post something. The answer? Yes. There are options on FeedBlitz to send emails every few hours or you can change your settings to receive one update daily, which would contain links to all the posts published here on any given day. Here’s the link you would need to visit to start the settings change process. There is a link to “settings” on that page, and when you click on it it asks you for your login info. Proceed from there.

The Washington Post published an article over the weekend strongly implying that Abdallah al-Ajmi, a terrorist released from Gitmo, only became a ‘hardcore’ terrorist after he was released in 2006 because his treatment at Gitmo made him hate America enough to blow up an Iraqi Army outpost in March 2008.
Patterico has a very detailed dissection of the article here. Make sure to read the whole thing because, as he notes, it’s not until you dig into the article quite a bit that you learn that his treatment at Gitmo is not what caused him to despise this country. He hated it before he was ever taken to Gitmo.
