You should save your "tough love," Leslie, for an issue that deserves it, like the Obama birth certificate "issue." This isn't one of them. There was also a second amendment voted on yesterday as it related to a back door version of the FD, and several Democrat leaders are on record as saying they want it back. And, as I noted, some are willing to bring it back by another name. It's a way to say we didn't bring back the FD - literally they'd be right, but they'd be wrong in every other way that matters. Your "tough love" won't change that.

I'm truly surprised at your tone and don't appreciate being treated like I'm a member of the far right fringe when I've done nothing that would warrant it. I've disagreed with you plenty of times on issues I thought weren't really issues but I never treated you like you were a member of the fringe left.

Well with an 87-11 vote against bringing it back, there's only a slightly better chance the sun will rise in the west tomorrow than there is in seeing the fairness doctrine reinstated. It's a waste of time to discuss this nonsense considering what else is going on with the economy, etc. etc. It is indeed childest, stupid, and obsessive to go on about this. I mean, even if by some magic the Democrats suddenly changed their minds, the bill would be filibustered to death.

I'm sorry for the harsh language but I thought a little tough love was necessary.

What's up with the insults, Leslie? If you disagree with the belief, that's fine, but insults are below you.

When you've got the leaders of the House and Senate saying they support a return to the Fairness Doctrine, not to mention the other liberal leaders who have expressed similar views, we have a right to be concerned about the possibility of it coming back. There's nothing "immature" about the belief either, so I'm not sure why you characterized it as such. It's a valid concern, in addition to the concerns about the budget, the deficit, etc. We can talk about and address more than one issue at a time, Leslie.

The conservative movement turns into a clown act . . . our great great grandchildren may be in debt . . . and what are people worried about here? Why . . . why . . . it's the fairness doctrine, which is so NOT coming back. In any form. In any shape. Under any name.

Da wheels be spinning. Da ship be sinking.

Grow up, people! Just. Grow. Up.

A rose by any other name still stinks like a donkey dung pile lie. Congrats, jackasses, you've effectively muzzled parts of the First Amendment. It doesn't matter how much lipstick you put on, you're still lying pigs.

Now, watch them take on the Second.

If the Democrats actually bring this back it will backfire so bad they won't know what hit them.

The last thing you do in politics is give your opponent a rallying cry when they don't have one. Conservatives are somewhat moping around now, as opposing the "stimulus" could only be a temporary thing. But opposing the so-called "Fairness Doctrine" would go on for years.
