President Obama warmly smiles, shakes hands with Hugo Chavez

… you know, the man who called President Bush “El Diablo” and saluted America-hater Noam Chomsky while giving a speech at the UN back in 2006? The dictator who funds FARC terrorists and who is suspected of funding Hezbollah, too? Hoped America would be “finished in the near future”?

Malkin has the photo and commentary here. Can’t add anything more than that except to say I find the whole thing absolutely disgusting, and beneath the President of the United States.

Stop The ACLU viewed one of the pix as sort of a “fist bump.” (Hurl)

Oh – and this wasn’t just an incidental meeting. Obama sought Chavez out:

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago – Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez called the last U.S. president β€œthe devil.” But this U.S. president wanted to meet him.

So Barack Obama walked across a hotel ballroom here Friday and introduced himself to Chavez. The two leaders smiled and shook hands, chatting briefly.

Chavez’s office later said the two men talked about their mutual desire to change the relationship between their countries – a characterization the White House didn’t dispute.

Asked what he said to Chavez, Obama replied: β€œI said, β€˜Como estas?’”

That’s it. I’m done giving him the benefit of the doubt on any issue. He’s gone too far, made a mockery of the office of the President, and legitimized a thug “leader” who has shown time and time again a blatant disregard for truth, freedom, human rights, and democracy.

Screw you, President Obama.
