Breaking: Military recruits gunned down in Little Rock (UPDATE: SUSPECT IN CUSTODY)

Via Fox 16:

Little Rock police are working the scene of a double shooing. It happened around 10:00 a.m. at a U.S. Army Recruiting office at 9112 North Rodney Parham Road. The two men shot were U.S. Army recruiters.

Authorities have just told FOX16 that one of the men shot has died at a local hospital. The other man is still in serious condition.

The suspect fled the scene in his SUV and was caught near the I30/630 interchange.

Captain Randy Hickman with the Little Rock Fire Department tells FOX16 that the bomb squad has been called to the scene at I30/630. There is some type of device in the SUV the suspect was driving.

Keep the victims and their families in your prayers.

Was this a random act of violence, or were the victims targeted by far left anti-military fanatics? If it’s the latter, will Andrew Sullivan blame Keith Olbermann for the tragedy?

Stay tuned …

Update – 7:56 PM: It was two military recruits, not recruiters (that was corrected in later versions of this story published elsewhere). And a suspect is in custody (via ST reader forest hunter):

Just after 5:00 this evening, Little Rock Police say Abulhakin Muhammad, also known as Carlos Bledsoe, will be charged with capital murder and 15 counts of terroristic acts after a shooting at an Army/Navy recruitment center on Rodney Parham Road in Little Rock.

Little Rock Police Chief Stuart Thomas says Muhammad, originally of Memphis, targeted military personnel.

23-year-old Private William Long, of Conway, died as a result of his injuries.

18-year-old Private Quinton Ezeagwula, of Jacksonville, was also shot. Chief Thomas says he is in stable condition and will recover.

Around two o’clock Monday afternoon, police and bomb squad officers went Muhammad’s apartment off Napa Valley Drive in the Bristol Park complex.

The military revealed information about what the victims were doing at the center. Lt. Col. Thomas F. Artis, Commander of the Oklahoma recruiting battalion which has command over the Little Rock recruiting station says the soldiers were enlisted men, not officers, and that they did not work as recruiters. Lt. Col. Artis says they were part of a recruiting program called “hometown recruiting assistance.”

I’m sure that, just like they did with Christians in the George Tiller murder, the broadbrushing of Muslims in America by the left will commence in 3, 2 … nah.

And I’m sure AG Holder will order increased security for military recruiting centers across the country, just as he did for abortion providers yesterday, and Obama will issue a statement condemning the attack, just as he did over the murder of George Tiller … nah.
