  1. On the one hand, my employer has decided what form our pay cuts will take – just not when. My car has died its final death and I can’t afford to buy another, and I have a headache the size of Mt. Rushmore. :((

On the other hand, I have the makings of a great country song here. :d

Ya know, if you throw enough darts at a board at least one is bound to hit the bulleye.

I can’t think of another time I’ve even remotely considered the possibility that something Pelosi has done made a lick of sense, let alone be right.

But she sure was about the MJ memorial thing. Maybe it’s just the exception that makes the rule?

  3. Carlos says:

BTW, I find it ironic the Uighers of China are complaining the communists are stifling and/or trying to stamp out their muslim religion.

That’s never occurred in any other muslim country anytime in history, has it, where the muslim majority stifles and tries to eliminate the religious competition?

  4. Great White Rat says:

The economy continues to fade. Confidence in the administration is dwindling. And the mullahs and Kim Jong-Il are taking turns giving Obama wedgies on the world stage.

But all is not lost. The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Matt Flegenheimer comes skipping to Obama’s aid with some good news: he’s every woman’s dream: Oh, for their own Barack.

Excerpt (warning – have barf bag handy before reading): :-&

across the country, many women dare to harbor the audacious hope of finding “their own Barack” – a man with integrity, character and spirituality, one who loves and values his wife and makes his family a priority no matter how busy his schedule is.

Integrity – like holding staged “townhall” meetings to deceive people about his health care boondoggle.

Character – or, in more scientific terms, Narcissitic Personality Disorder.

Spirituality – learned at the feet of Jeremiah Wright.

To those who got physically ill reading the excerpt, I apologize. But you ladies – come on, fess up and admit you really want your own Barack, right??? :d

A great story has developed here in St Louis in regards to small business and “Cap And Trade”. Fox affiliate and a well known bakery in our area have made a lot of noise in regards to this small business destroying bill.

Dana Loesch (Tea Party Oraganizer talk show host) and Jamie Allman strong St.Louis conservative leader and radio show host, have launched the concerns of this small business owner into national recognition. Glenn Beck, Fox Business etc. You can make a difference too if you speak out and make your voices heard.

A great and touching interview. Please watch

    Make your voice heard!
Thanks Sister for your efforts as well!

    Thx

  6. ST, you’re just jealous you don’t have the next Grand Ole Opry hit in the works. ;)

GWR, I know you warned us, but… :-&

    And this part:

…and makes his family a priority no matter how busy his schedule is.

But Sarah Palin is a quitter and derelict for putting her family ahead of her title? Bah! :-l

  7. Steve Skubinna says:

In Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. But don’t be jealous, we’re in the unfashionable part, the part where they put the ammo ships (West Loch). I have to ride about forty minutes on the ship’s shuttle bus just to get where I can catch a city bus to Honolulu.

So it sort of sucks. Okay, no pending pay cuts or dead car, but jeez, man, have some empathy.

And we’re leaving this morning for, um, other places.

  8. Tom TB says:

Here in CT 30 miles from NYC it’s a beautiful morning. A bit cool for this time of year, but there never was a/c in this house. The tidal cove we live on is a mud flat right now at ebb tide, as it has been for the 54 years my family has lived here. So Obama and Co. might be trying the old Tiger scam, “Vote for me, and I’ll protect you from Tigers!” “We don’t have Tigers here,” we reply. “See! Re-elect ME!” Any climate change or sea-level rise will be noticed here first.

  9. Carlos says:

Tom TB, how many generations you got to wait?

But you and your family don’t count. It’s the inner city kids (like Harlem, South-side Chicago, South Central L.A.) and the poor non-white islanders that will receive all the Tiger evil when the seas rise.

Meanwhile, how’s the clamming? Seems to me if the seas are rising like the Chicken Littles are screaming they ought to have clams nearly everywhere by now…

  11. Hailey W. says:

My local mall (owned by Simon Malls, the same company that closed down the Atlanta Tea Party) has pushed out a Conservative business, costing several jobs, because they did not like its Conservative merchandise (which often times criticized Obama).

It is outrageous because I remember many stores in the mall selling “Impeach Bush” stickers during Bush’s Presidency–And of course there was no outrage there!

I wrote the story up on the Examiner. I think we should be looking at all of the Simon Malls across the country to make sure this isn’t happening elsewhere. You can read more about it here: LINK

  12. MissJean says:

Anthony, my father always said that cars are a necessary evil. My condolences on your heap giving out.

I spent about $85 on lightbulbs – the nonCFL sort. My favorite lamp had a wiring problem in the switchplate which broke the lightbulb. I took it as a sign and created a stockpile.

Got my summer taxes. My house value is 90K. For some reason, that makes me want to put an extra $4K on the mortgage principle so the debt and value will be equal. ;)

My cousins aren’t visiting Argentina this year because theatres, cinemas, etc. are closed due to swine flu. This past week, the death toll jumped from 25 to 60 and more than 900 cases were reported. It’s winter there, prime flu season.

  13. nate255 says:

It is getting hard to tell the difference between Peggy Noonan and Maureen Dowd. They are starting to look alike and now they write alike. They both also have the same love for Obama. Peggy is changing from a columnist for the Wall Street Journal to a Communist from the Wall Street Journal.

  14. SMBrothersMD says:

My daughter and son in law announced that our first grandchild is due in early February. I don’t know if I am old enough to be a grandfather, but I am very excited!

On the political side, our school taxes are going up for the 38th consecutive year. The School Board has now hit the legal maximum and cannot raise taxes or change the property valuations without state approval. The state is not about to let them raise taxes any more, because the state wants that money too. Our greedy teacher’s union, selfish as always, is threatening to strike unless they get a 7.5% pay raise over the next two years. The rest of the county is doing poorly, and these greedy slimeballs want even more. So much for their empathy and compassion. Of course, they are also complaining to high heaven that they now have to pay for 5% of their medical insurance benefits, while the 15% of our county population is uninsured. Grrr…..

Beer makes California seem better than it is (the weather helps, too!)

  16. Lorica says:

Obama Says Slavery’s Past Should Be Taught in United States

President Obama says slavery is a terrible part of the United States’ history and should be taught in a way that connects that past cruelty to current events, such as the genocide in Darfur.

Amen Barack, and lets start with the fact that the Republican party is the party that wanted to end slavery, it was Democrats that wanted to keep it around. Also, I forget, who runs our current cirriculum now??? Ohhh Yeah mostly Democrat opperatives.

GWR, Women do find their own men of integrity and spirituality, we are mostly conservatives. We are the good guys who go to work every week, and we come back to our homes, grateful for the things our wives have done for us, and the great things the Lord has placed in our lives. For the most part. – Lorica

Behind The Meltdown: Many Americans are unaware of the causes of the greatest economic calamity of our lifetime. A new congressional report details how government politicized housing, wrecking the economy.
