Dear Marc Sanford,
I am not your constituent. I feel for those who are. In your “apology”, you certainly seem committed to “humbly” hanging on to your political post:
“I write this to begin the journey of trying to get things more right with you and others.”
“I apologize for this, and more than anything would ask for your forgiveness going forward.”
“…where I’m committed to growing the most going forward.”
“…in this latest chapter in our book together as South Carolinians.”
My suggestion is that you a) take a journey–out of office b) go forward–by yourself,to fix things in your private life c) find a publisher for your insipid prose and let the good people of South Carolina CLOSE the book on your political career.
I am so impressed by the pride you take in your new found humility.
Please go away.
A North Carolinian
