I can’t really add much more to what Dan Riehl wrote last night in response to the President’s assertion in his press conference that the Cambridge police “acted stupidly” in the arrest of black Harvard “scholar” and professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. outside of his home after the report of an attempted burglarly that turned out to be him trying to get into his own home after his door apparently got stuck. The police officer who arrested Gates is being accused by Useful Idiots of racial profiling in spite of a police report that suggests otherwise (read the police report at Dan’s link).
Obama’s response? Ben Smith reports:
Gates was arrested for allegedly disorderly conduct — a charge that was quickly dropped — after a confrontation with a police officer inside his own home. Though some facts of the case are still in dispute, Obama showed little doubt about who had been wronged.
“I don’t know – not having been there and not seeing all the facts – what role race played in that, but I think it’s fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two that he Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home,” Obama said in response to a question from the Chicago Sun-Times’s Lynn Sweet.
Gates, Obama allowed, “is a friend, so I may be a little biased here. I don’t know all the facts.”
Yeah, that’s an understatement. He doesn’t have all the facts, and he is admittedly biased when it comes to Gates, Jr. To the statement, “What role race played” – why not instead say, “I don’t know whether or not race was a factor – we shouldn’t be so quick to judge before all the facts have been layed out.”? I guess that is expecting too much. He’s implicitly acknowledging his belief that race played “some role” – he just “doesn’t know” how much.
However Gates, he continued, “jimmied his way to get into [his own] house.”
“There was a report called in to the police station that there might be a burglary taking place – so far so good,” Obama said, reflecting that he’d hope the police were called if he were seen breaking into his own house, then pausing.
“I guess this is my house now,” he remarked of the White House. “Here I’d get shot.”
Undergirding the long digression, though, was Obama’s place as a new symbol of racial reconciliation, and his long past in the trenches of the politics of race and discrimination in the Illinois State Senate.
“Separate and apart from this incident is that there’s a long history in this country of African-American and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately,” the president said, eagerly engaging the issue of racial profiling, a concern earlier in his career that has seen little White House attention to date.
“That’s just a fact,” Obama said of profiling. “That doesn’t lessen the incredibly progress that has been made.”
Riehl’s reax:
Not having all the facts, he should have withheld judgment, perhaps pronouncing the incident as unfortunate. He didn’t term Professor’s Gate’s alleged reaction to questioning, after apparently breaking into his own home, as ill-considered, let alone stupid, or otherwise dumb. And the Cambridge police are not the neighbor who summoned them to the scene. We have no way of knowing if they acted “stupidly,” or not. However, that was a conclusion Barack Obama was prepared to jump to based solely upon Race, while admitting not knowing the facts.
He also displayed a willingness to abandon American police officers in the line of duty without a full hearing of the facts. It’s impossible to recall any former president doing such a thing, at least before some objective fact finding was done. This may not be a wound he recovers from, and certainly not easily, in terms of his political career.
Meanwhile, any notion of a post-racial era in America due to Obama is likely doomed. That, perhaps, is the biggest shame of all.
Actually, the biggest shame of all is that the mainstream media, liberal Democrats, and black “leaders” have gotten away with perpetuating the myth about Barack Obama being a post-racial politician. He repeatedly proved he wasn’t once the primaries got going last year, and continued to play the race card whenever he felt it suited his political needs during the course of his campaign. And don’t even get me started on his spiritual mentor Rev. Wright.
Obama may not be an Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson type in terms of overt race-baiting, but that’s only because he knows how to play the race card in much more subtle ways that Sharpton and Jackson do. Not a big deal in the scheme of things as far as he’s concerned, though. He knows that the liberal black community will stand behind him 100% on this, and white liberals – forever wrapped in a cocoon of liberal white guilt over America’s laws against black people decades ago – will, too.
For more, read Jules Crittenden, who has an interesting take on Obama’s response to the question about Gates, Jr’s arrest, and who also has more on the arresting officer. And as always, the blogger commentary on this issue is piling up at Memeorandum.

Obama is no different that most black political leaders on the left who feel the poor “down-trodden” black mans troubles are all due to whitey. At time BHO talks a good game, but in the unscripted moments he reverts to his true self. Personally I tired, very tired of hearing about the poor black man in the country and blaming all their woes on the white man. That may have been true years back, but they are now making their own beds and I for one say let them sleep in them. I don’t believe in a handout to those who refuse to help themselves, knowing that the government will step in always help them meet there shortcomings.
The essence of President Obama’s comments: “It must be that the police acted stupidly and with racial bias. I know Dr. Gates, and he would never display the indignance and arrogance claimed by the police. The fault must lie with the police rather than Dr. Gates’s alleged lack of cooperation.”
Of course, Dr. Gates was arrested for disorderly conduct, not burglary, but let’s not let facts cloud the issue. Let’s make statements like, “Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home.” Naturally that was the reason why he was not arrested for burglary. It has nothing to do with the alleged disorderly conduct or whether the arrest was appropriate.
There is no race problem any more.
The world is now filled with smiling and unicorns.
So, the rich “man of color” is allowed to scream racial epithets. Okey dokey, got it!
I am sick of people useing the race card every time they do something wrong.I would have been greatful knowing someone was watching my back. If I had to break into my own home and got cought doing it, I would never have been upset when I was asked to prove it was my home.I could be a burgler or worse. Black or white the officer was with in his right to ask, no demand, that I prove who I am.If I disrespected him, he should lock me up. It sounds to me like this man feels he is so special he should be treated differently from everyone else. And about racial profileing, if you have 500 black & hispanics and 300 whites it is not nomal to arest more whites than blacks, or maybe they should just stop aresting blacks until whites catch up. Hey white people out there start committing more crimes so more white people can be arested and make this thing even. And by the way there are no African Americans. You are either Americans or africans MAKE A CHOICE. Bottom line, if you do not want to be arested don’t do anything to get you arested. Is Obama now taking Jesse Jacksons place? I thought he had other things to think about than wheather a friend of his mouthed off to a police officer and got his self arested.
Totally disgusting!
Ever since He accused me of xenophobia, I have endeavored to understand where He was coming from . I now have a solid clue. Is it possibly transference? Let’s think about His Foreign policy, in light of the comments at yesterday’s presser. I,m just sayin,.
It is really unfortunate that Obama didn’t take a pass on this one. There’s one thing that people of all ages and races ought to understand: You don’t mouth off to cops who are doing their jobs.
The police have a right to ask you to identify yourself at the scene of a potential crime. Non compliance is not an option. Screaming “Do you know who I am?” and abusing them potentially results in an arrest regardless of the races involved. I have seen white guy arrested by white cops for doing exactly this.
For the President to wade in call the police “stupid” was a grave error in judgement on his part, and unfortunate for our country.
everyone is allowed to scream anything in their own house. What next arrest someone for indecent exposure in the bathroom in their own house?
That does make sense…It could not have been the yelling at a police officer…it had to be the race card. Continue to play the race card and cry wolf; hide under that security blanket and see how long you supress yourselves.
Personally I think white people should start demanding their wrights. We are now the minority. Our tax dollars are being spent to previde for mostly blacks, alains and young pregnant women who do not pratice birth control. How do I know this? You can know this too, just spend one day in the human resorces office. There you will find people who can’t speak english, pregant unmarried women with two or more kids. Maybe one out of ten is white and out of these most of their kids are black. All walk out with the tax payers money. YET a white woman who was born in the great US of A , had dibeties so bad she couldn’t work, 1 child, whos father died, lost part of her foot because she couldn’t get the help she needed. The child received $600 a month from his fathers life insurance policy and that disqulified her from a medical card she so much needed. There is something wrong with this picture. It looks to me like the whites are discrimated against. I say every time an ilegal or someone with a green card shows up at a government office to cash in on the hand outs, deport them. They are bleeding our country dry. They can’t even demonstrate in english.Profiling!!! if drugs, rape, murder, break-ins, roberies are commited mostly by blacks and hispanics just who would you be keeping an eye on.Read the news people, make a list, see who is doing the crimes. It is a shame the decent people of color has to take the back lash from the rotton apples in the barrel. I have some wonderful black and hispanic friends. Good christan people who raise their kids in the church and don’t blame every one else for their lot in life. They believe in the law and follow it. They work hard for what they have and help others when they can.And they certainly don’t belly ache about something that happened over a hundred years ago. Some of my ancesters probally had slaves, but I do not apolgise for them as they have nothing to do with me.I didn’t even know them, so what’s it to me. I think in the here and now, not the past. My God, just think what could be acomplished if people put the past behind them and joined together to build the future.
The regrettable, though expected, aspect of this is that the police dept caved in to this twits racial grievance shrieking and dropped the charges. From what I’ve read, the good professor was out of line, and was indeed creating a public disturbance, which is unfortunately typical of self important, arrogant, race card playing idiots. But hey, I guess it’s a good “get out of jail free” card if you can get away with it. But until people who play this game are slapped down for it it will never stop, and taking this to trial would have been a good start.
The cop has the patience of Job, I probably would have given the loud mouthed obnoxious prof a wood shampoo.
This is for “sandeep” No you are not allowed to scream and yell at the police in your own home or any where else. They are there for your potection, that is what we pay them for. They risk their lives every day to keep us as safe as possible and they deserve our respect. Yes officer, no officer, thank you officer. That could have been anybody in that house and a little common curtesy would have gone a long way. No one is exempt from this.
One cannot create a public disturbance inside your own house
Just like all the rest of his promises/lies, His Hollowness will drive a wedge in the racial relations of this country the likes of which haven’t been seen since 1861.
Way to go, counselor!
Everyone, including the president, should get their heads out of the sand, get over themselves, keep their nose and comments out of the business of others and do what they can to make the world a better place. Racial profiling? I am white living in a predominately brown-black hood for almost 30 yrs. I have been followed and/or stopped by police 6-7 times (and followed by men of color far more times than that). The last time was July 4th. The police wondered what I was doing there (walking my dog – duh)etc. We had a little chat. I front-out told them “I know, I don’t look like I belong here”. Profiling is everywhere. Quit whining about it, stop being narcissic and cultivate a real love for humanity and help those in need!
Gee sandeep, learn to read, if you had paid attention you would have learned that this wasn’t confined to inside the house but continued on outside and attracted quite a local audience.
The problem in this case was the prof’s attitude, not the police. Ever stop to wonder how this might have been different if instead of instantly screaming at the cop and trying to belittle and intimidate him by the “don’t you know who I am!” BS, the good prof had instead acted calmly, rationally, and perhaps politely? Like “well officer, let me show you my ID, I understand it looked suspicious, I’m kind of embarrassed that I forgot my key and you had to come out here for this.” Do you think things might have turned out a teeny weeny bit differently?
People who refuse to practice politeness throw sand in the gears of a machine that doesn’t work smoothly enough at the best of times, that machine being interpersonal relations. People often act like a mirror, they reflect back what you show to them. Act like an arrogant ass, and you’re not likely to get deference in return.
Anyone breaking into a home should be asked to provide proof and no you can’t yell obscene vulgar language to a police officer anywhere. When 75% of black children are being raised by a single parent or a relative, then the end result lays at the feet of the black male and his unwillingness to take responsibility for his own actions.
Like yelling at a police officer.
Just my thoughts.
Very UNFORTUNATE AND SCARY that the President would ‘act so stupidly’ as to respond without knowing the facts in this or any other situation. If indeed the professor was confrontational, he should be the one apologizing. Obama now owes this Country an apology and admit his error regardless of who is supported by the details (once known) in this instance.
My father was a police officer for around ten years and i’m sure the police didn’t know who they would find and didn’t know if they had a gun in their backpacks. Just because you broke into a house does not mean you live there and the police had a right to ask for identification. “The Good Doctor” should have taken the less guilty road and provide an ID showing proof and explain why there was another person with him breaking into his own house.
The “Professor” created his own problems because of his reaction. He should have a little better character than to attack someone there protecting his property.
JMHO
Sorry, We need a president that will help the joining of the people to bring us together as one great nation. President Obama has indeed started a great divide within the nation.
I find it very scary that the president would throw the racist card out like that. Our country is sinking fast. Really, a black guy disrespecting the police makes headlines? How about this for the headlines, “More people lose their jobs, while the president is concerned about police acting stupid…” Here is a question for all you out their to answer, Where would you feel safe, walking down inner city streets, where the majority of people living there is of non-white heritage, or the street of a town that is mostly made of of a working middle class. I like what Hazmire has to say. People that are black americans, hispanic, or from another nationality have literally created an image for their whole society. Police officers today cannot even pull over a black guy, without being charged with racial profiling. How disturbing times are these days, I pray 2012 comes faster. I really do not want a president representing me that is racist against white people. I think maybe we should open our own colleges, have our own courses studying our culture, and when we are conforted by a black police officer, accuse him of racial profiling.
Ron and Sev leave me with little to add, so I think I’ll just tip my hat to them, and to ST for bringing this to our attention.
well i think after that incident it was barack obama who acted stupidly.
The arrest report
As I said, the officer has the patience of Job. The good professor is an ass.
BEING AN EX- CITY POLICE OFFICER I HAVE SEEN ROUGE COP’S, BUT I DON’T THINK THIS IS THE CASE HERE….IT’S A CASE OF A POLITICALLY CONNECTED PERSON THINKING HE IS ABOVE THE LAW….
Does anyone really believe that a Hawvud prof is really concerned about how anything he does appears to anyone not in the academic elite? Talk about stereotyping! The jerk assumed that, because his “tormentor” wore a police uniform the officer was automatically out to “get him”.
Perhaps if he read some things outside the realm of marxist classism he would be better prepared to live in other than his Ivory Tower.
And now we learn that the arresting officer was an instructor of a “racial profiling” class!
The professor considers himself a priviledged character and above the lowly civil servants trying to protect his home. He acted like an ass, then played the race card when couldn’t intimidate the local cop with his tirade. The black president, the black Mass gov., the black Cambridge mayor all dumped on the cop; none of these people were there, but instantly agreed with the priviledged prof. Any wonder people are a little cynical these days.
President Obama missed a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be a leader not only of minorities, but of our nation.
Friend or not, black or not, Obama should have said that he is living proof that blacks and minorities no longer have the right to assume they are automatically a victim. Becoming belligerent and playing the race card when an officer is doing nothing but making sure Mr. Gates’ residence is safe, does not accomplish anything positive.
This is reminiscent of Rep Cynthia McKinney striking a police officer who was just doing his duty, as was officer Crowley. Blacks and minorities who are in positions of leadership should lead by example, and show that you can be calm and civil, and work through issues as fellow human beings, not as “victims”.
As long as minorities leaders continue to tell minorities that they are “victims”, even in cases when they clearly are not, they will continue to be so.
Somewhere in Kenya or Indonesia….a village is missing it’s idiot.
WOW, we are a nation filled with people lacking skills in critical thinking. People, stop watching “COPS” and thinking like sheep. Ask yourself, why do police enter a person’s home – not to chat or hang out, but to investigate. The police went beyond what was necessary. There was no need to enter the professor’s home. His I.D. would have cleared everything up, but they wanted to enter his home…guess why. Can you say “unreasonable search”? In addition, the police should have reciprocated showing I.D., but refused. Also, didn’t the police make demands of the professor (produce I.D.), and didn’t the police refuse to reciprocate, which could have caused tension, then led the professor to take the tense situation outside? WE ALL have the right to demand the police produce I.D. There is more, just read what is written from a neutral perspective, and UNDERSTAND both parties’ rights.
I have been in the professor’s situation when I had to break into my apartment, but my face did not make me look suspicious. I have also worked with people whose positions required them to be racially neutral, but they weren’t – they did and said what was needed to advance in their jobs.
When people do not have the ability to make critical observations, they allow themselves and others to be taken advantage of – they sometime inadvertently support such actions through their ignorance.
I am surprised to see Sandeep K take such an unfounded position on such a serious topic. This fool wasn’t arrested because of what he said or did in the house. Read the police reports … there were others who saw this and agree with the police report version. After the Sgt left the house, Gates followed him outside and kept screaming at him. Even though Gates was warned that he was approaching arrest for disorderly conduct, he kept running his mouth. He got what he was asking for. Had I been the officer on that call, I would have arrested him for the disorderly conduct AND disturbing the peace. I don’t really care what the color of his skin is, or the accent in his voice, that kind of behavior is just not acceptable. Had the police not shown up, Gates would have claimed that Cambridge was protecting his home because he is black. Gates, obviously, has smarts, but no pride or self worth.

Well said!
After reading the police report, viewing the photos available from the incident and reading some commentary from both the policeman and bystanders who gathered outside of the home it is pretty clear the good professor was the one inciting the problem.
I can sympathize with the professor, it was probably a long travel day, then you forgot your key, the door is jammed, … not a good space. However a small amount of consideration for the police officer who has come to your door would have been appropriate. I am sure the officer was not the most polite, but put yourself in his shoes for a moment, he is not sure if there is a robbery in progress, he is following police procedure for his safety – cut him a little slack. Show him your id, confirm for him that this is your home and thank him for responding promptly.
From the words and actions of the police officer and Professor Gates over the past few days it is pretty clear the good professor is the one with the racist views.
Unfortunately the president’s immediate siding with the professor and his demeaning of the police officer do not speak well for this presidents judgment.
Sev (in comment 12) wrote:
I figured the police department would do that. What I’m happy to see is (so far) the officer has not apologized (and says he won’t) and the police unions are standing behind him. I hope neither he nor the unions back down, even though the police department “officially” did.
The professor, highly respected in the greater community, had just returned home from a long flight…was jet lagged and fatigued…was further frustrated at not being able to open his door…was in a state of extreme anxiety.
The police, responding to the report of an apparent break-in attempt, find a person inside the home, ask for identification.
The professor’s reaction, in his agitated state is atypical of his usual reasonable demeanor…”unruly” sounds like an appropriate description (instead of immediately showing his ID and thanking the police the police for their most appropriate attempt to protect his property).
I am an independent voter and stand four square behind Mr. Obama’s overall approach, and what appear to be his instincts…thus am seriously disappointed with his shoot from the hip response to this matter.
The professor owes the police an apology, the President owes the nation an apology.
Caveat: I also lack all the facts, but this is the way it looks to me.
It’s always a race card. Or I’m a victim. Being overseas in a 3rd world country for the past 5 years I now understand where these issue come from. It’s genetic a 3rd world mentality. USA is on the way with no truning back to becoming a 3rd world. Whose to blame? Blame all as far as I am concerned. I have no real solutions but I would like to say obey the law, be color or gender blind, get rid of the bias self serving idiots that use race only to further their standings. When it comes to health care well wake up look up where americans tax money is going. Forget home look at where it’s going to provide usless countries with job oppertunities, housing and medical care plus in some corrupt officals pockets. the above mention are facts and provided free by American taxpayers. One example when our economy was collasping the most corrupt country in asia the Philppines was given about 43 mil for reef restoration. Lose your house save a filipine fish.
I guess listening to Rev Wright all those years has finally surfaced. Why eles would he want to “change America” and apologize for how ugly us Americans have been to everyone else. He is not an american as far as I am concerned. That is why he hates us!
Sandeep, stop commenting on this if you are going to be so adamant on being so ignorant. I have been a victim of racial discrimination quite a few times and I can definitely say, going by the cop’s version and the eye witness’ version of the incident, this has absolutely nothing to do with race. Its really sad to see a couple of “flag bearers” of their community playing the race card and setting such a bad example to others.
I would like to know how Obama’s initial statement even implied a hint of racism. It had nothing to do with race, which he made perfectly clear. I don’t believe Cambridge Police or Mass police are an 100% white force, so it’s not only white people who are the “victim”, if there really is a “victim”. What about everybody else? It sounds like all the white people whining are still trying to cope wit the fact that a black man is in office. If anything the comment was directed to the force, not one officer. As long as that officer was on the professor’s property, he was harassing him. And when was it a crime to have a bad attitude? The police are not superhuman just as Obama isn’t. Respect isn’t given, it’s earned. With that being said, Obama earned the worlds respect. He is entitled to his opinion and freedom of speech just like the rest of us. When slavery was abolished racism did not end. There are still people in this world, like police officers, and other white people in positions of power who continue to abuse it. So let’s not act like this type of thing doesn’t happen everyday. The bottom line is white people are crying they are the new minority and things are unfair for them but the real problem is because of Obama, things are actually becoming fair for the minority (blacks) after 100′s of years oppression, and that’s a lot for some white people to deal with. The day has finally come. The old Negro spiritual says “We shall overcome someday”, that day has came and went, so it’s time the world starts functioning properly and accept it. Accept us.
Look people. Let us be real. If you are dark-complexioned person walking in a predominantly light-complexioned people’s area, you got a very high chance of being stopped and questioned by the police. It can also be the other way around.
Tony, stay on course. What does what is happening in the Philippines got to do with this issue?
“Separate and apart from this incident is that there’s a long history in this country of African-American and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately,” (Quote from our esteemed leader)
It never occurs to such deep thinkers as the Prez and the prof that maybe, just maybe, African-Americans and Latinos disproportionately commit more crimes. Duh. (Although I will say that, with the increase in the size of the “European” victim class the numbers are starting to come together again, while there is a decrease in the percentage of middle class blacks being arrested. Just off the top of my head, I would guess the arrest rate of each group has more to do with how they are raised and live their lives than with the color of their skin?)
Well, it is evident the good professor got the job because of the color of his skin and not his intellegence. The law has to be obeyed and hire so many minorities. I bet he screeched just as loud that that law be followed. It takes a stupid man to call another man stupid when he does not even know what is going on. I have been in that situation and laugh about it still. It was the only time I was ever in handcuffs. But, I thanked the officers for protecting me. They let me go when they got my ID.
Nina come on!! He sure did bring up racism in he speech you better go hear it again. Tired of the reverse racsim, time to move back to the country I came from.
Oh and NINA your statements are so wrong because not all blacks see things your way. There are so many people here of other races in the US so get over it you did not live in those days. There are barley any pure whites left anyway so I really don’t agree with your comments. It is what you were taught as a child and stuck with you, it’s called hate. I am not judging you but your words are evidence.
The professor was wrong, the President was wrong, the police were doing their job. Sounds like a few people got uppity, and they owe an apology to the police dept. Now do we want Jesse Jackson to come in to the picture too? It does seem to be a race issue here though, the President and his friend. I wasn’t there, you were not there, and some will say the cops were protecting their friend and partner, even the African American co worker in the picture. Seems in the picture though, the Professor is yelling.
This reminds me of the protest of American TV, African Americans saying they were not on prime time TV enough, so Fox TV ran two hours of Americas Most Wanted, problem solved.
Nina Simone – Clearly Obama’s comments were racially insensitive. He was specifically asked about what role race played. Yes, he has a right to his opinion, but he showed very poor judgement in light of his position and his statement that he didn’t have all the facts. He should have stopped there, but then he segued into a commentary on racial profiling which he claimed was separate and unrelated to this issue. Then why bring it up?
Read the facts; thats what Obama should have done before being so quick to condemn the police. There are two ironic points here. Sgt. Crowley is is not only highly regarded, but is considered an expert in racial profiling and trains others on the topic. It appears he did everything he could to keep the situation from getting out of hand. Sounds like Mr. Gates picked the wrong guy to scream racist at.
Number two: As Mr. gates was being arrested, the police asked him if he would like them to secure the door which was left wide open. He told them it was unsecurable due to a recent break in attempt. Say what? So the neighbor sees two men that appear to be breaking in, and maybe knows about the previous break in attempt, and watching out for her fellow man, calls the police. The police arrive to investigate and make sure everything is ok, but get nothing but disrespect. Oh, and by the way, the police earned their respect when they earned their badges, so when they are worn it must be given. Keep up the good work, Sgt Crowley. You did nothing wrong.
I am hugely disappointed by Obama’s arrogance and lack of judgement. This is one example of how lack of political experience is a liability that can’t be overcome by charm and charisma. I’m sure we’ll see many more examples before 2012.
It was just a matter of time. Ive worked (managed) with numerous diviersified cultures in the past. My experience said it all. The latinos, chinese, indian I have worked with never used their backround as an excuse for moving forward. It seems like the black man always tried to use there color as an “excuse” for being treated wrong. I was constantly challenge as a manager for being discrimatory. I fountd this was simply an ongoing thing with all old and new coming employees. It was there pithetic excuse to get there way in the job place. Thank goodness for the other 10% of good, intellectual “black” employees whom backed me up and made it clear that I was square and fair. I think this has always been the case in society, especially with police incedences as the gates situation. He is a poor excuse. For as long as the “black man” continues to work this way, he will always be seen as the weak link. Lets move into the 21st century people. We have a black pres… Lets take real responsibilty for our actions and actually work for what we want!!! No excuses….anymore… Why is every other culture, chinese, indian, etc… getting ahead and the black culture still struggling…well, excuses and hand outs wont get you far… HARD WORK WILL!!
Well, Sandeep (7/23 1:32 pm), most people seem to have it right – except you. Race baiting is exactly what happened, by Gates and Obama. Quite frankly I could care less what Obama says or thinks after he has uttered lie, after lie, after lie, after lie, after lie, etc, to the American people. The police were called on a suspected crime by a watchful neighbor. If I saw to people trying to break in the door to my neighbor’s house at night, I would do the same. Gates should have been very thankful that the police came to his house TO PROTECT HIM.
What if the police delayed responding or did not respond to the 911 call and Gates’ home was burglarized. Wow!! Racism again! Sandeep, you can scream all you want in your bathroom until they come to take you away in a white jacket. By the way, you give yourself too much credit when you think you are indecently exposed in your bathroom. Maybe scaringly exposed?
I will never accept Obama as anything but what he is … a racist. He married for political reasons a woman who is a racist. He went to a church for over 20 years with a racist preacher. Racism will stop in this country the day the Obamas in this world stop playing the race card. Racism goes both ways. It’s the Al Sharptons and Jesse Jacksons who keep the good Black people down. Look in the mirror before you claim Obama is great for this country. He has just set back race relations decades. It also doesn’t help to read about Black-on-Black crime in places like Chicago where so many young people are murdered almost daily.
Please tell me, Nina Simone, when Obama is going to address the bloodshed in his hometown. I believe he doesn’t give a damn about Black people … and at the same time hates rich White people.
Time will tell the kind of damage Obama has caused America.
