MSDNC’s Mark Murray: Glenn Beck should be fired for calling Obama a racist

Oh, this (scroll) is so so rich:

On the Glenn Becks and Howard Beales: The White House doesn’t want to give Glenn Beck a bigger platform or extra oxygen — especially regarding his remark yesterday that the president has “a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture” — so they won’t comment, even off record. Beck, after all, is a radio DJ who somehow ended up getting a national platform to give his opinion on politics. What’s most amazing about this episode is that what Beck said isn’t a fireable or even a SUSPENDABLE offense by his bosses. There was a time when outrageous rants like this would actually cost the ranters their jobs. But not anymore; if anything, it’s now encouraged. And all of this could turn ACTUAL journalists into the next Howard Beales. It’s getting nuts that the folks who are creating the perception of an ideological/polarized media world are people who have never really spent their lives being journalists. Whether it’s former political consultants-turned-TV execs or former radio DJs, or former California socialites, the folks helping to accelerate the public’s perception of the media off a cliff made their livings trying to do other things. Of course, Beck’s crazy language could have one unintended consequence: It could cost him bookings with any Republicans who want to be popular outside Beck’s hard-core bizarro-land viewers.

Hysterical. Has Murray ever watched the clowns on his OWN network? KeithO, to be specific? Olbermann – who was a sports “journalist” before coming on board as a political commentator on the Obama-loved MSDNC – was like a walking sewer mouth last year, and the year before, in fact, when it came to describing the Bush admin. He equated Bush with Hitler multiple times and took some truly cheap shots at McCain like the “joke” he made about him needing to “buy more Depends,” doesn’t mind gay-baiting when the mood suits him, said Fox News was a bigger threat to this country than AQ, and joined in on making despicably sexist remarks about the former Miss California – and that’s just the short list. Yet Murray is worried about Glenn Beck’s suggestion that Obama is a racist? Maybe the morons at MSDNC should clean up their own backyards before they start whining about someone else’s. In fact, if we go by Murray’s standards, pretty much their entire evening line up would have to be fired with the possible exception of Rachel Maddow.

But hey – I keep forgetting: We are now living in a country where all scrutiny and criticism of our President should only come from more “serious journalists” like former sportscasters like KeithO and liberal shills like Chris “Sarah Palin was McCain’s mail-order bride” Matthews who who believe it’s their duty as American patriots to “help the Obama administration” succeed, tingly legs and all. A sentiment shared by the higher-ups as well, I should note. My bad!

Hat tip to Matthew Vadum at AmSpec, who has more on so-called “liberal tolerance” – including the campaign by the far left to have CNN fire Lou Dobbs for his position on illegal immigration and for his discussion of the “Birther” issue.

    Damn it, the truth hurts!

  2. Brontefan says:

    Wow! Carol, Dead-on target!
Beck got it right, too! And if Americans weren’t so schmoozed by OB, they would take a closer look at some of the people he surrounds himself with—

  3. Carlos says:

So, His Hollowness is a racist, huh?

Goooooolllly, Sarge! After all the crap he spewed last year, and after sitting in a theoretically Christian church listening to the “pastor” rant for twenty years about the Great Satan Whitey, and after surrounding himself with the likes of Emmanuel and Holder, ya think maybe, just maybe, Beck MIGHT have had a teensy weensy reason to say that?

Nah. Just pure coincidence would be my guess. His Hollowness is pure as the driven snow. No, wait, that’s racist, too!

Murray, Olberman and Obama are all racists, more so than Beck ever thought of being.

  4. 2Hotel9 says:

Too bad that according to the Democrat Party definition of “racist” Barri, and his wife, is a racist.

Whats that? You are unfamiliar with the Democrat Party definition of a “racist”? No prob!! I will hip y’all to the deal. Anyone who uses race for their personal or political gain is a “racist”. Just glad I could clear that up!

  5. CJT says:

I guess Obama should get free reign and should not be subject to scrutiny? Glenn Beck is right on target, but I guess free speech isn’t for those who refuse to drink Obama-aid.

  6. Kate says:

BINGO CJT – Free speech is the ultimate loser. The initial comment that Sister quoted is a small portent of what is to come with the BO administration. He does not like dissent. His followers hate anyone who does not tow the party line and ridicule is their favored tool because they don’t have to deal with facts.

Good posts All! Continue to keep this bastion of free speech going!

  7. Steve Skubinna says:

Remember when dissent was the higest form of patriotism? Now it’s the lowest form of racism.

  8. SpideyTerry says:

Additionally, didn’t Obama himself admit to having racist attitudes towards whites in one of his books? I seem to recall hearing that. In any case, I’d say he is a racist and that Murray needs to stop being such a hypocrite. Apparently and unsurprisingly, the concept of true freedom of speech eludes the far left pinheads. It’s not about getting to say what you believe. It’s about having to put up with what someone else says.

  9. Bachbone says:

Uhhhh, who’s Mark Murray? And who gives a BRB (big rat’s butt) what he, or anyone else at MSDNC, for that matter, says?

  10. Great White Rat says:

HEY!!! Watch those comments about rat’s butts!!! x(

An influential part of MSDNC’s “political team”:

    First Read: Mark Murray
    NBC News Deputy Political Director

Since joining NBC News in 2003, Mark Murray has reported on and written about political races, trends, and issues — including the Bush-Kerry presidential race, the 2006 midterm elections, and the emerging 2008 White House contest.

Before coming to NBC, he spent more than five years as a reporter at the political magazine National Journal, and has written freelance articles for the Atlantic Monthly, the Washington Monthly, and Washingtonian magazine.

    LOL!!

  12. Carlos says:

    I note that Murray’s background is solid middle-of-the-road wishy-washy, isn’t it?

    Typical of liberal/leftist projection, though.
