The struggling Panthers will face off against the struggling Jets this afternoon in a game where both teams are playing more for pride than anything else as their respective playoff hopes are all but gone. Both teams are at 4-6 and are coming off losses last week (the Panthers to the Dolphins, and the Jets to the Patriots).
Contrary to some earlier published stories, Panthers WR Steve Smith will be starting the game today, in spite of reports that he has sore ribs.
Game time is 1:00 PM ET and wil be broadcast on Fox.
Update: Jake Delhomme added to his league leading total of 18 picks by 4 as the Jets defeated the hapless Cats 17-6.

Go, Panthers!
Meanwhile, the 4-6 49ers face Jacksonville, another team we should be able to beat, unless we beat ourselves.
Ouch… just saw that fluke interception…
Not a great year for my teams or my friends’ teams.
