At the same time the MSM provided President Obama and other pro-socialized medicine Democrats with free slanted coverage of their various healthcare “reform” bills, many of them were treating [3] the opposition the same way far left liberals were: as birther fanatics [4], mobsters [5], “un-American [6],” Astroturfers [7], fascists [8], terrorists [9], brownshirts [10], racists [11], assassins [3], and Neanderthals [12].
To add to all this, Rasmussen Reports now has [13] what they call a “Media Meter [14]” service that “measures coverage of political figures, celebrities, sports teams, and more.” Their first report?
Roll your mouse over the graphic and you’ll see that 60% of media mentions about the President were positive over the past week while 40% were negative.
Hey – what did you expect? The mainstream media by and large is doing what it does best when it comes to Barack Obama [15] and most in the Democrat party. It paid off big [16] for them in 2008. Will it work again in 2010? Their spin to the deeply skeptical public [17] didn’t help get ObamaCare passed; that was greasy, sleazy backroom deals [18]. But will their spin (which has already started [19]) work in the days in months ahead as principled conservatives like Senator Jim DeMint [20] put forth their best efforts [21] at convincing the public that a repeal of ObamaCare is needed?
