Sharron Angle‘s campaign to unseat Harry Reid in Nevada has stumbled badly in the first few weeks since she won the Republican nomination, making what should have been a runaway victory over the unpopular Senate Majority Leader a tight race, instead, with Harry enjoying a small lead.
But, I’ll give her this: whether her own people are coming up with them or she’s getting help from the national Republicans, her commercials are funny:
And effective. Reid’s tenure has been a disaster for Nevada, and the progressive policies he’s pushed in the face of strong national opposition have only made a bad situation worse. The stimulus package was sold a way to keep unemployment from rising above 8%, but the national rate is around 9.75% and Nevada’s is much worse than that. But, don’t worry, Silver Staters; at least the chimps are happy.
The Angle campaign is smart to keep hammering Pinky Reid on the economy; it’s where he’s the weakest and avoids some of Angle’s more controversial social-policy positions. And I’ve always said satire is one of the most effective weapons in the fight against a crappy politician.
Keep them laughing at him, Sharron. It’s Pinky’s glass jaw.

Lord help her if the nationals are helping her – she’ll need it, with their track record!
And like is said, if it ain’t close, they can’t steal it. In NV there’s an additional problem, because the SEIU is really big there, and you know their reputation for honesty and winning the good favor of common folk…
I think we are doomed if he goes back in and we can kiss it all goodbye if the Annointed One swaggers back into the oval office in 2012. God help us.
I have serious questions about the polling that is taking place…a close race in the polls may be a good thing and bring out people in NV who are truly interested in a change from Pinky Reid.
Personally, I hate all this polling business. It is such a racket with all the “news” agencies who do their own polls and then there are the established business who do the same. Why do we need both? Because the MSM is not happy with the results in the private sector. There is a sublte way to ask questions to get the answers you want.
So I hope people will back up Angle in the one poll that really counts. And I pray that there is no hankypanky in the polling places.
…the polling here in NV is unreliable. And the media always gins up a “horse race” regardless of the realities. As an example, we were told two days before the NV primary that Sue Loudin would beat Sharon Angle for the right to challenge Pinky Reid in November. Instead, Sharon Angle beat Loudin by a margin approaching 2 to 1.
I wonder just how far out Angle’s positions are. It’s not like we’d get a real, honest report on her through the media. Between Journolist and whatever that new outfit, Son of Journolist is called, we won’t get any straight news until every newspaper, and network in America goes bankrupt and no one with a degree from any of the J-Schools is doing anything but sweeping floors and flipping Tofu-burgers.
