What we believe: natural law

Bill Whittle continues his series of video essays on modern American conservatism, this time considering the topic of Natural Law and its distinction from Political Law, and when the former requires us to fight the latter. This has always been an obscure topic for me, even though it’s central to our essence as a nation, as shown by this one sentence in the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Whittle does an excellent job explicating this, and I urge people who want to understand the ideas behind the Founding to watch.
