The United Nations: a sick joke

Posted by: Phineas on November 12, 2010 at 1:01 pm

Would you like (yet another) example of why the United Nations is worthless? Well, here ya go, pal. Saudi Arabia has joined the executive board of the new United Nations organization on the rights of women. No, I’m serious. It seems Iran was beyond the pale, but Saudi Arabia was a-okay by the UN’s high standards. I guess the difference must be that, in Iran, they still stone women to death, but, in the enlightened heart of Islam, they’re merely whipped and sent to jail for the crime of being victims of a gang-rape. That obviously qualifies the Saudis to oversee the rights of women around the world

At least, to anyone who understands George Orwell.

That would be funny (in a perverse kind of way) if it wasn’t just plain tragic

Now I think I have heard everything…I guess you could day that since Saudi was awarded this position in the UN that the rest of the nations that are anti-woman will now have a voice. Maybe that was their point…unlikely, but how else could you explain such a STUPID move!

And what is the so-called National Organization of Women’s stance on this? Where is their official statement of outrage? Hmm? Don’t hear it. Well, I guess they are too darned busy running around making sure women are getting abortions left and right in the name of ‘freedom of choice’ (as long as you choose the choice they loudly protect).

I have lost all respect for the United Nations. This is just one more shot in a dead horse. The first shot came when the United Nations failed ot tell their past electricians, maintenance, and other manual laborers that they were exposed to asbestos over several years. They acted like criminals and costs people their lives.

Until they start acting like an institution with morals, they cannot tell anyone else about morality. Saudi Arabia shouldn’t be anywhere near a commission on the rights of women. I guess all that oil money goes a long way.

That’s right, Paula, and it’s your president and his jackass cronies who’ve jammed the energy “policies” that keep our country dependent upon foreign oil down America’s throat because they know it’s more important to be green than free.

Matter of fact, Mr Zero doesn’t seem to think freedom is worth much at all anyway.
