As you can imagine, the local news networks/papers were all over the story of former President Bush and Laura Bush being in town at the Rev. Billy Graham Library [1] to sign copies of their books to people who had camped out Friday night to get a wristband Saturday, and who camped out last night to get a good spot in line today. Reportedly there were around 1,000 people waiting in line to meet them (you can view photos here [2] of the long lines and traffic), and many of those who stood in line got the rare chance to briefly see the Rev. Graham himself [3]. Graham, 92, doesn’t make many public appearances these days due to health issues.
Local TV station WBTV filed this report [4]:

Nice.
All in all, it looks and sounds like the former First Couple had a nice visit to Charlotte, and thrilled a lot of people, many of whom traveled a long way for the chance to meet them both, and who got the special treat of catching a glimpse of the Rev. Graham. God bless this wonderful man in the twilight of his life. We sure do love him around here in Charlotte (the place of his birth) – as does the rest of the world.
