Pelosi: “Elections shouldn’t matter”

Well, at least she gets points for being honest about her elitist, anti-democratic, nigh-on fascist* values. While speaking to students at Tufts University last week, the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives**, the woman who not too long ago was second in line to be President of the United States, had this to say:

To my Republican friends: take back your party. So that it doesn’t matter so much who wins the election, because we have shared values about the education of our children, the growth of our economy, how we defend our country, our security and civil liberties, how we respect our seniors. Because there are so many things at risk right now — perhaps in another question I’ll go into them, if you want. But the fact is that elections shouldn’t matter as much as they do…But when it comes to a place where there doesn’t seem to be shared values then that can be problematic for the country, as I think you can see right now.

“Elections shouldn’t matter.” We’ve seen this time and again since last November: at the national level, the President and the Democratic leadership regularly act as if they hadn’t suffered a total repudiation at the polls, still pushing an agenda the nation clearly rejected. And at the state level, they’ve brought out their allies in Wisconsin, Ohio, Washington, New Jersey, Idaho, and soon in Sacramento to intimidate the elected representatives of the people and overturn the results of a democratic election. Tells you all one needs to know about the leadership of the Democratic Party — and why they should never, ever win another election in our lifetimes.

LINKS: Real Clear Politics has the video. Historian Steven Hayward analyzes this and shows how it represents a continuity in Progressive thought from its foundations to the present.

*Trust me, I’m not exaggerating — Read Goldberg’s book. This appeal to “shared values,” a unity that rises above politics, a “third way” — it’s all straight out of the Progressive/liberal fascist manual and has a history stretching back more than 100 years.

**You know, the chamber often called “The People’s House,” whose frequent elections are supposed to better reflect popular will. But, if elections “shouldn’t matter as much as they do,” then who are the Representatives representing?

To correct Madam Pelosi, it is a matter of your Opinion, not fact, that elections shouldn’t matter. The fact is, that they do, Thank you God!!! You see, there are these things called liars and theives, that tend to get elected, and elections tend to get rid of these lowlifes. Get use to it Madam, as come 2012, it is my hope that you are part of a minority party forever. It is your lies and your ignorance that caused the uprising of the American People and the formation of the Tea Party that you hate. Blame yourself that you are the cause of your own party’s destruction. Buh bye!! – Lorica

We have “shared values”? Oh, really, Madam ex-Speaker?

And, pray tell, what “shared values” do you and most other Americans have?

Certainly not the hate of the unborn babies murdered daily.

Certainly not your arrogant conceit that you know better how to run everyone else’ life than they do.

And certainly not the insipid hate for the country we grew up in.

And most certainly, I can’t think of one, no not one, value I share with you, if we’re talking real values as displayed by actions, not voiced “values” that don’t mean anything.

  3. Brontefan says:

What shared values? When shoving ObamaCare at the American public with all the special deals and waivers, she cared nothing for Seniors then.. who would be denied health care access in 2014 when medicare will be cut 57%. Then, the other day she was tearfully saying how the cuts Republicans want will leave seniors to starve. We don’t have the same values. I want more Americans to take responsiblity for themselves and behave accordingly. I am tired of paying more so others can skate and do less. I don’t share Van Jones’ idea that all lives should be interchangable. I want to decide when I am going to help someone–not the government. AND I am fed up with food police, the idea that I must use a squiggly light bulb instead of the one Edison invented–and if I drop and break it, I will need a Haz Mat team to clean it up. I want the federal government OUT of my everyday life and to quit micro-managing every aspect of our lives.

She is crying her head off now that she has to fly coach and stand in line for check-in at the airport.

It was YOUR President, Nan, who said “…elections have consequences…”. That darn old constitution getting in the way of your “decades of Democrat majorities” (ala Carville)?

  5. Kate says:

When election results can be manipulated by fraudulent registration and votes, then elections shouldn’t matter, Nan.

A complete investigation into motor/voter and other election fraud should be underway across the country. When the dead can rise and vote in Chicago….yeah, election results shouldn’t matter.

  6. Carlos says:

When the dead can vote in Chicago, Kate? How quaint that notion is. They vote on a consistent basis now in Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, California and Washington (state), and Lord knows where else.

It’s become an art form for the progressive elections directors in counties throughout the nation, it seems like.

That woman is the most eloquent idiot of all time. And that winning smile is enough to make me wince in disgust.

  8. Carlos says:

That “winning smile” makes some purveyor of botox joy happy, Zippy.
