Idiotic liberal moral relativism strikes again – Sheila Jackson Lee edition

Why did I have to wake up on a beautiful Saturday morning to read/see this garbage (hat tip)?

(CNSNews.com) – At a congressional hearing on Muslim radicalization in U.S. prisons, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) said that investigators needed to analyze Christian militants in America because they too might try to β€œbring down the country.”

In an exchange with witness Patrick Dunleavy, the former deputy inspector of the criminal intelligence unit, New York Department of Correctional Services, Rep. Jackson Lee mentioned the case of a man who blew up an abortion clinic and proposed that this perhaps was an attempt to undermine U.S. law that allows a woman to procure an abortion.

Rep. Lee then said, β€œAs we look to be informational, we should include an analysis of how Christian militants or others might bring down the country. We have to look broadly, do we not?”

Dunleavy answered: β€œI don’t know that Christian militants have foreign country backing or foreign country financing.”

Lee then said, β€œI don’t think that’s the issue. The issue is whether or not their intent is to undermine the laws of this nation. And I think it is clear that that is the case. So it’s not — your distinction is not answering the question.”

Video of the exchange:

Dunleavy is right and his point is very relevant, contra to Jackson Lee’s petty protestations to the contrary. There’s no evidence of foreign country backing or foreign country financing – for that matter, there’s no evidence of domestic country backing or financing … because it doesn’t exist. As I’ve said many times before in response to the absurd attempts liberals make at morally equating fundamentalist Christians with Islamists:

You read reprehensible stories like this, and you scream out in outrage – yet at the first sound you make about how this is just one more example of the type of β€œacceptable” behavior that is prevelant amongst Islamists, someone on the left will jump in angrily and demand that you β€œacknowledge” that morally repulsive behavior like this is not characteristic of Islam on the whole – that acts like these are committed β€œonly by a militant few.” Which is a lie. Yet, you have a few isolated incidents of extremist β€œChristian/right wing” (or whatever they’re calling it today) violence here in the US this year, and all of a sudden it’s a β€œwidespread problem,” and one that β€œproves” what β€œthey’ve” been saying all along about us crazy right-wingers, and as a result, we must be β€œwatched a little closer” by DHS.

That the left can’t see the differences between a few acts of radical extremist fringe violence here in the US committed by lone, depraved sociopaths, and the worldwide, almost weekly incidents of Islamofascism committed against innocent civilians – some that are terrorist acts against the west, while others β€œacceptable” acts of β€œpunishment” for Muslim men and women who allegedly have β€œbroken” Islamic β€œlaw” – says a hell of a lot more about the left in this country than it does the right in terms of perspective and the ability to distinguish between good and evil and isolated versus epidemic.

From an October 2010 post – same issue:

There is no issue that brings out the blatant hypocrisy, illogic, stupidity, and duplicitous nature of activist liberals more than when it comes to Christianity and the left’s outrageousΒ attempts at equatingΒ rare and isolated incidents of extremism committed because of the mistaken belief by a tiny few wackos that the Bible promotes violence against non-believers, to theΒ routine, worldwide Islamofascistic terrorismΒ that is bothΒ promoted and mandated by the Koran itself.

And lastly:

Isolated acts of β€œChristian” extremism are typically committed by loner types or small groups of disturbed individuals who have grossly perverted the word of God into something it is not: A call to arms against non-believers. In the Christian faith, there is no β€œpunisher” of non-believers here on earth.  ”The decider” – so to speak – is God Himself. Β There is no growing global, thriving network of Christian extremists plotting, scheming, recruiting by the thousands, intimidating, terrorizing, killing so-called β€œinfidels.” On the other hand, the decades-old organized Islamofascism network has a number of β€œleaders” worldwide – the most infamous of course being Osama bin Laden, and their bases are scattered throughout Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, and most anywhere else the Islamic faith prevails, because the Koran specifically gives the green light to Muslim believers to take up arms against non-believers, using any means necessary.

Rep. Jackson Lee and her other liberal moral relativist pals need to get real. Too bad there isn’t enough money in the world to buy any of them even half of a clue.
