Apparently a conservative is not allowed the luxury of disagreeing with others in his/her own party like Democraps or RINOs are.

Which brings up the “odd” case of McCain “blasting” TEA partiers because they are so intransigent. He apparently was visiting VietNam when Reagan gave us the “11th Commandment.” He was also absent when in his debriefing he was told his experience as a POW does not give him the right to lose his ethical belief system. Wonder if he’s as big a pig-headed, boorish lout in private as he is in public, or is this the good side of him?

And apparently a conservative isn’t allowed to disagree with the ideological hard core and argue for a deal without being called a “RINO squish traitor” and having the political dogs sic’d on them, as the RSC was exposed doing today. It cuts both ways.

It’s interesting that Repubs (and Democraps) are screaming for “fiscal sanity and restraint” now, but when the Repub plans are laid out (you won’t see any Democrap plans because their only plan is to spend as much as the Repubs will allow) it appears that the “fiscal restraint” is slowing the rate of growth, not cutting the real spending.

Maybe my expectations are off base, but I’ll be darned if I can see where only spending 115% of one’s income is “fiscal restraint”, especially since the plastic is tapped to the max already. It might just be this slow old country boy, but it really does seem to me that “fiscal restraint” would start with spending LESS THAN 100% of what is realistically projected to come in.

Do I think the “extremists” on the right should play ball and go along with increasing both the debt and the debt limit? Maybe, but they should also be true to their core values.

Will that have extreme consequences, if all bills go down in flames? Of course it will, but just who the heck got us to this point, anyway? The “extremists”?

I didn’t think so.

Maybe it’s time to play a new game, one that includes accountability for spending what isn’t theirs to begin with?
