British comic Pat Condell rips into the anti-democratic European political class and the “European Union of Soviet Socialist Republics,” with an aside for some interesting observations about the nature of the American Revolution:

Why do you call Pat a comic? He’s a satirist of the first order.

Well, that’s how his site describes him: LINK

I like to think of him as a first class, but soft-spoken ranter. :)

Thankfully, I live in Texas where our legislature is limited to one session every other year and may not extend its own session. They have to balance the budget and they have to deal with everything within 140 legislative days. No extensions. If more action is needed, the governor issues an order for them to re-assemble and they can only act on the business put before them and they may not filibuster or screw around with procedural nonsense. If they are recalled, the session is limited to 30 days. They get paid only for the days they actually serve and they are not given large office budgets to try to bamboozle their constituents with phony “accomplishments”. They cannot put in an income tax without first putting this to a statewide referendum that would ultimately fail. Our Texas constitution may not work for every state, but it sure as hell works down here.
