Labor Sec. Solis: “I do believe that we’re going in the right direction” on jobs

This, my dear readers, is your quote of the day:

The US economy created no jobs and the unemployment rate held steadily higher at 9.1 percent in August, fueling concerns that the US is heading for another recession.

It was the first time since World War II that the economy had precisely net zero jobs created for a month.

[…]

“There are things that we know work that are waiting for action by the Congress,” US Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis told CNBC.

I do believe that we’re going in the right direction, but we need cooperation and it begins with members of the House and the Senate agreeing to do something now,” she added.

Good grief.Β  Talk about tone deaf!

As to “the House and Senate [needing to] agree to do something now”, of course that’s code for “Blame the GOP.” In typical Democrat fashion, they can’t possibly take personal responsiblity for their own disastrous anti-business policies, policies that have been an epicΒ miserable fail in terms of jump-starting our economy well into Year 3 of the Obama Era.Β Β  At the same time, they’ve obstructed any GOP efforts at making the business climateΒ here in AmericaΒ conduciveΒ toΒ hiring. Β DemocratsΒ blame them insteadΒ because they know the MSM will run with it – and will at the same timeΒ do other liberal bidding on the jobs issue along the way.

It’s too bad the President can’t take questions during that joint session of Congress that will take place next Thursday night.Β  But then again, even if he did get to take questions and this was asked, he surely wouldn’t answer it. Not truthfully, anyway.Β  This administration’s philosophy is: If we tell a lie often enough, then the people will eventuallyΒ believe it.

Dangerous.
