More like Tagami will be arrested for some gun violation and threatening with a deadly weapon. Defense of one’s property runs contrary to Marxist thought – it is the people’s property after all, so by what right does Tagami interfere with the people’s right to claim it?

Well put. Within the context of the anti-gun environment around the Bay Area, I am also surprised that Tagami has not been charged with some sort of weapons violation — even as weak as the old catchall “brandishing a weapon”.

Is it too much to even consider that perhaps the public is starting to “get it” that the state cannot protect you?

City Administrator Deanna Santana, even if you are correct that the majority of the protestors are “peaceful” – and I actually believe that – the same is true of society as a whole. Yet we have laws, and ways of enforcing them, because we want a defense against the minority who are not.

Too, being peaceful does not mean you are not harming others and should be allowed to do so, at least in some ways. It is possible to quite peacefully take a nap outdoors – but not in the high-speed lane of a freeway, potentially causing “accidental” damage and even multiple deaths.

Notice how silent Obama has been in the wake of the riots. Almost as though this is what he wants. Wonder why?
