#OccupyBoston poaching services meant for the homeless

What a bunch of jerks!

Occupy Boston has been encouraging protesters to take showers, hot meals and shelter meant for the homeless, prompting a St. Francis House manager to ask the downtown campers to remove directions from their Internet newspaper.

The online publication that calls itself “Occupy Boston Globe” posts meal times and shower hours at St. Francis House on Boylston Street, which runs on private donations and state and federal funding.

“We don’t want there to be a message to other people that we’re offering something different to them,” said St. Francis services director Andrea Ryan. She said she asked Occupy Boston to take the posting down, but because the shelter does not turn anyone away, Occupiers are free to use the shelter’s showers and meal lines.

Occupy Boston Globe staffers, who declined to be named, said they were unaware St. Francis House wanted the information removed.

Andy Claude, in Occupy’s logistics tent, said he sees no problem with protestors using services intended for the city’s poor.

“It’s for anybody; they’ve opened it to anyone who is in need,” said Claude. He added a number of shelters have taken in older and unwell protesters.

@Admiralconn at Twitter pegged these flaming hypocrites just right:

Taking from the truly needy? Just like a greedy corporation.

They have become that which they claim to abhor.  All while Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, like so many others across this country, does nothing.  Pathetic.

  1. Murphy's Law says:

Wait–aren’t these the same protesters who are complaining because the homeless are eating the food (food that was donated to their cause anyway) which they ostensibly offered it to anyone and everyone for free until the homeless started taking them up on their offer?

They haven’t “become” that which they claim to abhor, they’ve just found a way to justify the greed they complain so loudly about for themselves. They’ve always been that way, greedy.

Like the man said, “Occupy a job!”

In New York, there are reports that police won’t assist citizens who have been assaulted by the Fleabaggers because they’re afriad that going into the OWS encampment will trigger a riot.

On the other hand, even if the mayors are spineless, some people at the Chicago Board of Trade have taken Carlos’ advice seriously. They dumped a stack of McDonald’s job applications down on the local OWS mob that was congregating outside their building.

Of course, the Occupy Chicago parasites were not amused. My question is, what offended them more: the idea that the CBT folks didn’t take them seriously or the idea that they should get jobs?

  4. Corporations always give something in exchange to a willing consumer. Unless the government is involved.

  5. Carlos says:

Dumping all those apps won’t do any good. After all, these college grads have spent a ton of money (apparently, mostly borrowed) getting to where they are now, and inherently know they shouldn’t take any job less than CEO – that would be beneath them in their projected classless society.
