Is President Golf Course really calling CEOs, Americans “lazy”?

Yeah:

President Obama said this weekend that the United States has gotten a little “lazy” about attracting foreign investment, and needs to be more aggressive about attracting overseas dollars.

Obama said he has assigned federal officials to work with state and local governments to help attract foreign investors.

The full exchange:

QUESTION: I think one related question, looking at the world from the Chinese side, is what they would characterize as impediments to investment in the United States. And so that discussion I’m sure will be part of whatever dialogue you have. And so how are you thinking about that?

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Well, this is an issue, generally. I think it’s important to remember that the United States is still the largest recipient of foreign investment in the world. And there are a lot of things that make foreign investors see the U.S. as a great opportunity — our stability, our openness, our innovative free market culture.

But we’ve been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades. We’ve kind of taken for granted — well, people will want to come here and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new business into America. And so one of things that my administration has done is set up something called SelectUSA that organizes all the government agencies to work with state and local governments where they’re seeking assistance from us, to go out there and make it easier for foreign investors to build a plant in the United States and put outstanding U.S. workers back to work in the United States of America.

And we think that we can do much better than we’re doing right now. Because of our federalist system, sometimes a foreign investor comes in and they’ve got to navigate not only federal rules, but they’ve also got to navigate state and local governments that may have their own sets of interests. Being able to create if not a one-stop shop, then at least no more than a couple of stops for people to be able to come into the United States and make investments, that’s something that we want to encourage.

And where was President Obama today? Out golfing (surprise) in Hawaii with, among others, a pal who got nailed by the feds for soliciting prostitution. And fundraising ‘…inside a lush resort on the western side of Oahu.’

You really can’t make this stuff up.

Guaranteed that if I were a foreigner looking for a place to invest it certainly wouldn’t be in this country. With the present political makeup and a clueless leader that wants to punish anyone not in his personal clique (read: gang of thugs), there’s no way I would waste a penny of investment or a minute of time just so he could steal it for a union.

This is the same man who as candidate said he couldn’t close down our coal industry by legislation, but could bankrupt it! Obama is firmly in the anti-energy camp, supports an EPA that operates like a Mafia extortion racket, yet he and his family never saw jet fuel they wouldn’t happily burn. What foreigner would trust this present administration?

Ummm….yeah. i’m sure the extremely high corporate tax rate has nothing to do with the lack of investment.

And when foreign investors see President Golf Course’s minions sending in SWAT teams to raid companies like Gibson Guitars because of insufficient donations to the DNC, I’m sure they’re racing each other to see which of them can get that treatment next.

Or when the Obama clones at the NLRB tells Boeing that they can’t open a new plant they’ve already sunk millions of dollars into because none of the employee salaries will go to union coffers, and from there to Obama’s campaign funds, I’m sure foreign businessmen think, “WOW! How can I have that happen to ME??!?”

Or, as Tom points out, when the energy prices go through the roof because Obama wants to put coal companies out of business, it’s got to be a powerful incentive to flush more cash down the toilet.

Logic, truth, and intelligence are not on speaking terms with liberals and socialists.

ABC News has learned authorities are increasingly concerned that a man sought in connection with a bizarre shooting incident on the Washington Mall last week may pose a threat to President Obama.

The Secret Service now suspects that a bullet fired in this incident may have hit the White House after a bullet round was found in a White House window, though the round had not yet been conclusively linked to the incident.

Police believe the suspect, Oscar Ramiro Ortega of Idaho, is mentally ill. Ortega has an extensive record, ranging from domestic violence to drug charges. Sources say a police investigation has uncovered evidence suggesting Ortega has a fixation on the White House.

I bet the Secret Service are working “Fast and Furious” on this.

First let’s start with the sarcasm because the president was golfing over the weekend. It’s unbelievable that people want to give the president a hard time for taking ONE day off to golf with friends since:
1. Mr. Obama, unlike some of his predecessors, almost never uses the presidential retreat at Camp David to court other politicians or for personal use.
2. The White House acknowledges that he rarely has members of Congress to the second-floor residence of the White House.
3. The president has played golf in Washington only 44 times, almost always with a small group of Chicago friends or staff loyalists.
4. Even though he is in a business that places a premium on personal and political relations, Obama doesn’t relish that sort of camaraderie or cajoling; he appears aloof and spends little quality time with fellow politicians.
5. President Obama has taken about 61 vacation days after 31 months in office (calculated till Aug 2011). At that point in their presidencies, George W. Bush had spent 180 days at his ranch where his staff often joined him for meetings. And Ronald Reagan had taken 112 vacation days at his ranch.
6. And to be fair, a presidential vacation away from the White House is not the same as a vacation for the average person. The president is still in contact with his advisers and on call for any emergency.

And in regards to who the president golfs with; Titcomb and Obama attended the Punahou School together, have been close for decades and are frequent golf buddies. Obama remains LOYAL to his friend as he faces some difficult challenges in his life. I think a lot of people in the conservative/republican side forgot everything that happened during George W. Bush 8 years of disaster. It’s funny how Republicans and conservatives seem to have an issue with Obama keeping his (over 20 years) friendship with Timbcomb who was allegedly soliciting prostitution but think that the Herman Cain sexual harassment allegations are not important enough to completely kick him out of the GOP nomination race.

Uh, maybe, Glife, there’s a difference in perception between Titcomb and Cain because 1) of character differences between the two, 2) extreme differences in the credibility of the accusations, and 3) extreme differences in the character of the people they associate with.

Take this Titcomb character, for instance. Who in their right mind, if wanting to do the right, legal and ethical thing, would want to go golfing with a known liar and thug?
