Rev. Graham hospitalized for ‘possible case of pneumonia’

The Charlotte Observer reports [1] that America’s most beloved pastor has been hospitalized again (first time this year was in May [2]) in Asheville, NC:

Evangelist Billy Graham has been hospitalized with a possible case of pneumonia.

A statement from the evangelist’s organization said Graham was admitted to Mission Hospital in Asheville for treatment and observation of his lungs.

Graham was hospitalized for pneumonia in May. Pulmonologist Mark Hellreich is testing the 93-year-old Graham for the condition today.

Larry Ross, Graham’s longtime spokesman, says the evangelist recently developed a cough, congestion and a slight fever. After being tested at the hospital, doctors decided to keep Graham overnight for observation as a precautionary move.

According to the statement, Graham was alert when he was admitted, smiling and waving at hospital employees. Ross said Graham remained in good spirits.

While it is not clear when Graham will be released from the hospital, the statement said he is looking forward to spending Christmas with his family in his Montreat home.

Prayers, please.
