This is even worse than half the decisions made by insurance bureaucracies.

Sounds like a decision made by the old draft boards.

Or the USDA.

Or the SSA.

Or the Dept. of Ed.

Or any local DMV.

Or, even scarier, the proposed health care boards, whose decisions will effectively be final.

Libs have to be brain-dead not to see the idiocy bigger government engenders.

Socialized medicine or National Health Insurance is a disaster because it takes the control away from the individual & his or her family. I have relatives in Leeds, England who actually purchase INSURANCE that covers whatever issues the NHS won’t cover…or in the situation where they don’t like the dictate of the NHS. ObamaCare will destroy our medical industry, not to mention the fact that it puts CONTROL of your life/health care in the hands of the government–the same entity that controls Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the Post Office, and the IRS. God help us!

Well, it’s quite possible that he wouldn’t need a powered wheelchair. There are a lot of people walking on artificial legs.

I had a little bad luck during the Southeast Asia War Games and spent some months in one of the big Naval Hospitals. There were a helluva lot of Marines there learning how to walk on artificial legs, none of them had powered wheelchairs. This wasn’t because the Armed Services were cheap but because the easier they made it to avoid the work of recovery, the less recovery there was.

Is this the same? I dunno and neither does anyone here. I do remember that young men still in plaster would lie on their gurneys and race up and down the middle of the ward, polling those gurneys with a crutch. The only times the Docs and the nurses complained was when they’d dump the gurneys. The rule was anything to make those young men push through the pain.

When I was learning to walk on crutches to the mess hall I’d have to dodge the wheelchair races, again, we had to push ourselves.

On a Friday @ 4 in the afternoon, I received a call stating that my method of childbirth required a second a opinion, which was a C-section. The surgery was scheduled for the following Monday. I asked if the second opinion was for the C- section itself or to verify if I was indeed pregnant..and what other options in birthing this child I had. The girl on the other end of the phone didn’t know how to answer. Needless to say, it went on as scheduled. This stoopit stuff is already happening folks.
