Oh, I don’t know. I pulled the wings off flies as a kid. I’d love to see sir Edwards – and what I’d really like to see is the media cover uppers – squirming like the dogs they are at the evidence all knew was true but covered up.

I don’t think that you can unring a bell. Or find all copies of a sex tape. Once information hits the Internet it’s on tens of thousands of servers and backups forever.

I’m kinda hoping Edwards goes to prison in the campaign finance case. After all, he promised he’d kill himself if he did.

If other copies of the tape surface later, the agreement requires those to be destroyed as well.

Once it hits the internet, it’ll be all over; you can’t destroy that!

But this raises the obvious question: why would Mr Edwards and Miss Hunter make such a tape in the first place? If he didn’t know that such a tape could destroy him politically when he made it, then he’s as dumb as a box of rocks . . . which is quite possible. If she didn’t know that this, if it ever got out, would trash her then-as-yet-untrashed reputation, she’s as dumb as a post.

Of course, there’s the other obvious question: why did she get pregnant in the first place? Contraception is easily available and cheap. Mr Edwards had to know that he absolutely could not knock up his girlfriend in the middle of a presidential campaign, yet he did it anyway; Miss Hunter had to know that getting pregnant by a presidential candidate would both end his campaign, if it was discovered, and leave her on the outside for destroying his campaign.

Sis, that was one really stupid Senator you had there!

If he had become President, Edwards could have gone down in history as the dumbest President ever, edging out the current record holder, Carter.
