Prominent thug “feminists” urge people to encourage FCC to take Rush off the air

Will someone wake me up when this nightmare is over please?

A group of well-known feminists is calling for Rush Limbaugh’s head – and they want radio listeners to help fire him.

In an editorial posted on CNN.com Saturday, Gloria Steinem, Jane Fonda and Robin Morgan urged listeners to file complaints with the FCC in hopes that the government agency will yank the licenses of radio stations that air his show β€” and thus silence the controversial conservative.

Limbaugh’s syndicator, Clear Channel Communications, has backed the host since he called Sandra Fluke, a third-year Georgetown law student, a “slut” and “prostitute” over her support of insurance coverage of birth control.

“If Clear Channel won’t clean up its airways, then surely it’s time for the public to ask the FCC a basic question: Are the stations carrying Limbaugh’s show in fact using their licenses “in the public interest?” the trio wrote.

The editorial says it’s not about Limbaugh’s political views, but more about his “toxic hate speech” on the airwaves.

“For 20 years, Limbaugh has hidden behind the First Amendment, or else claimed he’s really β€˜doing humor’ or β€˜entertainment.’ He is indeed constitutionally entitled to his opinions, but he is not constitutionally entitled to the people’s airways,” they argue.

This is a meme that first started gaining momentum mid-last week when the so-called “Tea Party Truth Squad” posted a ridiculous but nonetheless chilling petition at the WH website urging the FCC to “take action” against Rush for his tirade against Democrat activist Sandra Fluke. The more “official” call by Fonda, Steinem, and Morgan follows calls by high-profile Democrats like Senator Carl Levin (D-MI) joining left-wing female veterans in demanding Rush be taken off of the Armed Forces Radio Network.

Outside of the brute tactics used to force ObamaCare down the throats of the American people, no one single issue has brought to light the thuggish, anti-Constitution mentality of the left since Obama has taken office more so than this one. The next time anyone on the left tries to brag and preach to you about how they are supposedly such staunch defenders of the First Amendment, please make sure to point them to this whole stupid manufactured “controversy.”

And then tell them to shove it.
