Thursday Night Humor: Alvin Greene declines to challenge Obama for the presidency
Because laughter is good medicine for the soul, I bring you this from the Daily Caller‘s Alex Pappas:
President Obama, you can now rest.
Alvin Greene says heβs decided against challenging you for president.
βIβm not running for president,β the 2010 Democratic Party nominee for the U.S. Senate from South Carolina said in an interview on WBT radio in Charlotte, N.C., on Thursday.
Greene β who garnered national media attention in 2010 for miraculously winning the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate despite doing no campaigning β hadΒ reportedly made phone callsΒ asking how much it would cost to run for president shortly after losing the general election to Republican Sen. Jim DeMint in 2010.
Greene told the radio interviewer,Β Keith Larson, on Thursday that heβs now focused on getting βmyself togetherβ in βthe private sector first.β
Asked if that means heβs done with politics, Greene responded: βYou never know. You never know. I think Iβll just leave that open and we just have to just wait and see.β
Larson also asked Greene whether heβs been invited to partake in the Democratic National Convention this summer, and the former candidate said he hadnβt.
He hasn’t been invited yet to DNC 2012 (yet)? Those raaaaacists!
